It occurs to me that I still ship Ace/Sorin in the worst way. Like, if there were prompts on the porn battle for them I'd write it. (even knowing the novelisation does the bit where Sorin's granddaddy marries not!Ace)

also. EVIL EVIL SINCE THE DAWN OF TIME.

eta: Also. Ace is really lucky that one guardsman wasn't gay.

eta2: Wow. The Sylvester McCoy haters on netflix are vociferous. THEIR TEARS AND PAIN MAKE ME HAPPY.

I think Ace would have been okay even if he was gay; Ghost Light, and, in fact, most of S25/26 are sort of there to show that she and Seven transcend sexuality. (Sort of like Jack Harkness, only without playing into the "bi folks are huge sluts" stereotype. Not that I don't like Jack, just... he's kind of got that stereotype going on in a big way.)

Also, yes, Ace/Sorin is about as awesome as Bambera/Ancelyn, only with less of a future. I would prompt you, but it's sort of hard, what with him being really definitively dead. Hrm.

This is true.

Sigh. I know. And there's really no time during the episode to put more in, sadly.

Awww. Um... Ace/Sorin, older and wiser, time paradox after they've both died a few times?

That is, as always, possible. Or AU it.

People hate Sylvester McCoy? Fie on them! Fie and bees!

They are like "THESE episodes bring down THE TONE of this halcyon establishment known as Doctor Who" and phrases along those lines (also including 'bad writing' and 'bad acting', which, I'll give them some of the latter).

And thus I am like "LOL, fanboys."

WHAT. I had forgotten about McCoy haters. I mean, what with McCoy being the height of Who's literary genius.

[identity profile] lilacsigil.livejournal.com 2011-02-02 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
LOL, yes, that's the only era of Doctor Who with instances of bad writing and/or acting. IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW!

Who doesn't ship Ace/Sorin?

Possibly, Ace/Hex shippers? I don't know. I'd imagine they wouldn't mind Sorin since, well, dead and all.

Also, I'd forgotten how googly-eyed Ace got over babies.

How can they hate McCoy? He great compared to the one who played Six. (I can't even remember the name of the one who played Six. That's how much I disliked him! I stopped watching Doctor Who when they showed it on PBS if it wasn't a Four or Five episode because if it was a Six I couldn't STAND IT!)

McCoy is MY DOCTOR, OMG. And ACE. *THUMBS UP*

Well, McCoy and Eccleston. I love them both the most.
