Things I learned while at my parents'.

1. My dad likes Firefly. As my dad is v Conservative when it comes to things like prostitution and sex outside of marriage, I was quite O.O over such. I showed him Train Job, Bushwacked, Shindig, Jaynestown and Out of Gas.

2. My brother's girlfriend moved in with him and the kids. She has kids, too. Also, Howl's Moving Castle is one of her favorite books. keep this one, brother, pls

3. Knitting makes everything better.

4. My mother thinks Eureka has too much sex in it. She liked it, otherwise, though.

I'm sure there were other things, but I should sleep. also, I found my copy of Gateway to Time 6. It was a 'zine, and it didn't take adult content or slash. *amused* Or Mary Sues.

On another subject, I think I may have burned myself out during the last porn battle. I keep trying to write porn and sort of failing. It's terribly sad.

(also, Pretty Little Liars, why are you so awesome?)

...

There's sex in Eureka? (Uhm...unless s4 adds a lot of it.)

There are women wearing low-cut blouses and short skirts and there's the implication of flirting and Carter maybe kissing someone! (seriously, I was trying very hard not to just cover my face and siiiiiigh)

eta: also, that one time Jo and Taggart are naked.

I figured maybe it was the ep where Allison is in her undies a lot? But really, it's generally surprisingly clean in that regard for modern TV?

We didn't even watch that. It was all from the pilot. And a bit unexpected.

1. Hurrah. =D

4. I think it's the low-cut blouses and the "everyone is divorced" atmosphere. I'm a bit confused over it, but unwilling to ask her to explain what she means.

YES, that. Like, if I said, "Hey, dad, I write porn." he'd give me a lecture about sex being sacred between two married, het, people.

I think my mother may be more straitlaced than I'd thought? I don't know.

my parents watch more genre tv than I do! They're always "hey have you seen SGU or Torchwood?" and I'm all -- "er, no, actually." then I feel like such a fan failure. :P

HAHAHAH. Dad didn't ask about Torchwood, but he did ask about SGU (which he hasn't seen)--the thing is, though, that he can barely keep Farscape, Firefly and season ten of SG-1 separate in his brain. *amused*

1. My parents, as lovely as they are, fail completely when it comes to television. My dad's idea of good tv is Dancing with the Stars and my mom really likes Glee. :(

4. Like everyone else, I don't get that one at all :)

1. gaaah. I'm lucky in that my dad introduced me to things like oldskool Who and my mom likes Poirot and Leverage.

4. I'm not even sure I entirely get it.

Don't you love when your brother finds someone you can actually talk to? :D

Yes, though we didn't get to talk much. Sigh. oh well. Maybe next time. =D

My Dad loves Firefly, too. I was surprised for the same reasons, but it apparently has enough Eastwood-esque tendancies for him. *shrug*

See, if he'd said something like that, I would have wondered if he was a pod-person. Dad doesn't like Eastwood.
