Tenchi Muyo= LotS?

Do not ask how this train of thought ended up here, BUT. It occurred to me while driving home that Richard of Legend of the Seeker (tv show, that is) was Tenchi. AND SUDDENLY THINGS FELL INTO PLACE. (beverly_mcintyr can, of course, cast aspersions on my memory, but) It explains why I was uninterested in Richard (Tenchi was blah, but omg everyone else yay).

Anyway. It does mean that Cara Mason = Ryoko (Cara would make an excellent space pirate); Kahlan = Kiyone (they both do that eyeroll of OH GOD WHY ME so well); Shota = Washu (for serious, NO ARGUING); and Zedd = ...well, probably Mihoshi (she's smarter than him, though).

Ahem.

I should maybe do something with actual substance now.

I don't know LotS, but suddenly, everything I've heard about it makes SO MUCH MORE SENSE. Oh, Tenchi Muyo, you were part of my early teens in a ridiculous way.

(Kiyone's OH GOD WHY ME eyeroll was an EPIC THING OF EPICNESS. I loved Kiyone. Probably because she played Only Sane Man so very, very well.)

Cara does fit in a way as Ryoko. The romantic love is not there, but the devotion is.

Kahlan while possessing some Kiyone qualities tends more toward Ayeka, in my opinion.

As Shota as Washu is a definite YES.

And I'd think Zedd is like Tenchi's grandpa Katsuhito. Except more sparkly powers and less of an appreciation for good tea.
