like no other gadget that you've ever seeen

Songs learned in childhood really do stick with you and come out at odd times. I'm currently humming the theme tune from one of those kids' records about singing in joy to God called, iirc, The Music Machine. It's very disconcerting.

I have this odd urge to read 90's X-Men and Avengers comics again.

In news of delight, I've added the War of the Worlds tv series to my netflix queue. It will be awesome in its awfulness. =D

The Music Machine was also one of those Sunday Morning plays that churches could put on. We had it one Sunday, and then during the week, Dad and I took the balsa/fabric/metal contraption on to the next church.

I don't remember the play, but I do remember how goofy the thing looked.

There is always a good reason to enjoy Avengers comics from the '90s: they are cracktackular, but more importantly, they are AWESOME.
