at least it is not Monday.

1. I had a plethora of odd dreams last night, not that I remember many. In one of them, [livejournal.com profile] nique, [livejournal.com profile] timjr and I were on a road trip with [livejournal.com profile] nique's great-grandfather in western Pennsylvania. Some of the roads we drove around and under are my brain's standard Road Trip roads, which I find vaguely fascinating. At some point, we crashed someone having a birthday party in a Wal-Mart.

Then I woke up with a "wtf, brain" mumble and got up to annoy the cat (who was nowhere to be found).

After going back to sleep, I dreamt of telling [livejournal.com profile] nique about the dream.

2. on Saturday, I marathoned Covert Affairs, and decided that, despite its problems, I really like the show. It's about Annie and Joan and Auggie (and Annie's relationship with her sister) and you can't really go wrong, there. Also, I ship Joan/Arthur so ridiculously it's not even funny (THE SUNDAY MORNING SCENE WAS GLORIOUS), and I love that the show isn't shying away from "people over thirty have sex".

3. However, because that was on my mind, and I'm reading The Poisoner's Handbook (which is about forensic science and chemistry in Jazz Age New York), my brain now has this idea that there is a Covert Affairs AU where Joan ran a speakeasy and Arthur was a Fed. and I have 1000 words written, but it needs polishing and something vaguely like a plot

4. I should, uh, maybe finish my bsg bigbang, at some point, too. I've just reached that stage where I know where I want to go, I just have to actually, well, write myself getting there. And then I get to go back and rip it to shreds and say "this made no sense brain, wtf"

5. My brain also decided to cough up gender-swap Holmes fic, set in the original era. I don't know what their names are, aside from Holmes and Watson, I didn't get that far. I do know it's Ian Adler, though. (or as Holmes calls him, "That Man", much to Watson's amusement) Mostly, I'm a bit like "brain, why are we writing this other stuff, when we should be writing #4, hrm?"

I read The Poisoner's Handbook while visiting my sister two weeks ago. I was quite impressed. Dad even managed to read it that week too. May have to buy a copy for my classroom.

I am really, really enjoying it, I'm just pacing myself so I don't read it all in one go. =D

I'm just gonna say that I fully support the idea of you three taking a road trip to Western PA :D

The Sunday morning scene was a thing of brilliance. The redacted sports page! I'm so glad they dropped Joan's insane jealousy plot line. Joan/Arthur is just too adorable to waste with an insane jealousy plot line.

The jealousy thing was... I think they had to drop it, since it made no sense and was stupid. I am sooo pleased with how it's falling out. =D

Have you seen tonights episode? There were hints of the jealousy, but perhaps I only saw them because I was thinking about it.

I hope they continue the trend of adorable Joan/Arthur moments.

I did not, sadly. Bah! Bah, on them, I say. I much prefer when it's the job that causes issues, as they both have to deal with being high-ranking while one is in charge of the other and stuff.
