Instead of doing anything useful tonight.
I made this, and wrote a scene. This is only the beginning, if only so I can think of ways to keep ripping off the pilot episode of Leverage.
I have decided, btw, that Helena Cain is Sterling.
Disclaimer: not mine. Leverage and BSG totally don't belong to me, and Laura Roslin is not an alcoholic bastard with a death wish. Also, there are Daybreak spoilers.

SCENE:
Laura Roslin took another sip of the cheap scotch she'd ordered. The flavor burned a little more than the good stuff would have, but she didn't care. It was distracting, gave her something to concentrate on. Dimly, she could hear the announcements about the shuttles coming and going in Caprica City, but it was hard to care.
"Miss Roslin?"
Ignoring the voice, Laura raised her glass again.
"Please," the woman caught her arm and sat down on the stool next to her. She was blonde, with glasses and a flawless complexion. None of it went well with the devastated look in her eyes and the nervous twitching of her hands. "My name is Shelly Godfrey. And I think you can help me."
Turning, Laura gave her a glare. "No."
"You haven't even listened--it's this company, they stole my designs for the defense programs. You have to help me."
"Help you?"
Hands shaking, Shelly set a folder on the top of the bar. "You have to help me steal it back--I can pay you--"
"This isn't what I do," Laura said, her tone weary. All she wanted was to drink the rest of her scotch and find oblivion in the pillow of her tiny bedroom. There were too many ghosts that would chase through her dreams, but she didn't care.
"No, I hired that side--I just need you to run them," Godfrey gave her a trusting look. "Please. I need someone honest to keep them in line."
Against her will, Laura flipped open the folder. Her eyes widened as she recognized the dossiers of the three people Shelly had hired to work for her. "Why me?"
"Because you have a personal stake against the company that insures Amorak-Tek." She paused, then continued, her voice quiet. "I think you'd be glad if Adar Insurance took a hit."
Laura couldn't quite hold back the way her hands shook, and didn't care. She downed another long pull of scotch. "What's the money?"
"More than enough to have you set up for a nice retirement. A long one."
Images splashed across Laura's mind. Her sisters, the way they'd laughed that last day. The sterile hospital rooms they'd been in, and John Cavil's face as he told her that he couldn't authorize the experimental procedures that would save their lives.
Laura sucked in a breath, then nodded. "I'm in."

Also, I have to keep writing, if only for the following:
"Let's go get us a Valerii."
"What's a Valerii?"

And OMG Shelley Godfrey! It's also really kind of perfect that Sharon's the Grifter (ETA: and Kara, and Dee, and Cai...ok, yes all of them), but this is just too much awesome. :D
Laura Roslin is not an alcoholic bastard with a death wish.
*stares*

I was a little scared how fast they all fell into their parts, and my brain was making little connections, going, "yes, yes, that."
Well, I don't know that Nate has a deathwish, but he is kinda an asshole.
