also, I've only seen her in maybe one episode, where she screws everyone over, and I like Scully lots? (there was bad CGI world imploding stuff)

Mm. I also like when fandom claims to want something, maybe out of some feminist political correctness, but doesn't actually want it. Some of the list I agree with, but only from the perspective of: potential awesomeness ruined by tacky writing. A lot of times, if you watch a show carefully, you can spot the episode where the characterization does some bizarre 180, often to the suit the plot of the more important male character. Other times, it's hailing frequencies open because the writer's are just fucking lazy. You can't really blame a character the same way you can blame an actual person for being themselves. It's a logic fail.

Oh, god, I knew I shouldn't have clicked on that ONTD entry, and just...gah. I stopped after Dee, who was awesome, and Shannon, who was my favorite in the few episodes I watched of "Lost." And just...*resists urge to read and rage more*

I want to randomly troll with a list of most disappointing male characters. Dean I-think-rape-is-a-compliment Winchester would be first.

That list could be the start of the list of my favourite characters (not women, characters) in SF. I don't know all listed but those I know were awesome. Most of all Martha Jones. But also Jenny, Dualla and Kochanski. And I wrote about my love for Isabelle Tyler before. I hate when the way fandom hates female characters and I hate even more when creators give in and kill or write them off. This is the main reason Supernatural disgust me.

Most of all I hate how the female characters are always blamed for the show's writing problems but male never are. Maya was not the reason Heroes season 2 was bad. Her characters problems were just a small part of the show's problems. Dualla was awesome until the writing on BSG got bad but I think the male characters (especially Adama and Tyrol) got much worse then her. I really hate how fandom hate always seems to be reserved for the women.

I'm sorry for all the hate against women in my post but I hate that it's mostly women who are responsible for all that hating.
