I should have a title or something
1. I have caught the cold my co-worker's daughter gave her. Joy. At the moment, I'm mostly just tired and fuzzy and the back of my throat is scratchy. Blah.
2. Twice this week I've forgotten to set my alarm and still managed to get up for work (Wed, I was on time, today, not so much--and that was with going to bed an hour and a half early last night).
3. I have thoughts on Fringe, but they're still percolating around.
4. I ripped serieses 4 and 5 of Lynley to take to work this week. I can report that Lynley works just fine as audio-only (except for one or two bits, and the scene in 5.4 near the end where you can't tell who's just been shot). I've been playing British Actor Voice Bingo and managed about 7 out of 15 as the right answer. (yes,
aj, I will put them up if you want, especially since they came from you in the first place)
5. I also ripped all the nuskool Who avis I had on hand, which led to the following lists
a. Audios I didn't manage to make it through: Age of Steel, Evolution of the Daleks, Idiots' Lantern (ugh, ugh, ugh), Tooth and Claw (uuugh), the first episode of SJA (I thought I'd try it again, but, no, not for me), Love and Monsters, Fear Her.
b. Audios I made it through:
Utopia. Not as good as I remembered it being, though Jack, Martha and Ten were an excellent Team TARDIS. Unfortunately, it presages the whole Saxon/Master thing which sounded crap to begin with (and having now read the wiki entries on the next two episodes, OMGWTFSTUPID)
Gridlock ...still middling to good, and Father Dougal's voice is v. v. distinctive. And Martha is still win, at the end.
Shakespeare Code. Wow, this one is really bad a second time through. The concept of words as power is very interesting, but the execution and supporting cast, not so much. I think it's Shakespeare I sort of want to punch?
Daleks in Manhattan. I'd never seen this one, and I think I at least want to give it a try? The story wasn't very good, though. And seeing as it's written by the same person who wrote the execrable Sontaren episodes, I'm unsurprised.
42. Riley is totally going to go off and start the future's own Cult of Martha Jones. This one works well as an audio, though Tennant's screaming is hilarious (all those people who complain about the screaming in the BF audios need only listen to 42 to realize it could be worse).
New Earth. HUGE props to Billie Piper for being magnificent in this. Her voice changes between Rose and Cassandra, and it's fabulous. I seem to recall she did good physical work, as well.
The Satan Pit. Ah, god and monsters and belief and Rose. <3 Seriously, I <3 Rose in this (and the first part) so so so much.
Smith and Jones. Very timey-wimey there, Doc.
Vampires of Venice. Awwww. There are some excellent one-liners in this episode.
Time of the Angels. RIVERAMY. Srsly, y'all, TIME IS NOT THE BOSS OF ME. <3 oh, Eleven
Flesh and Stone. AMYRIVER. Is River Song a chronovore who turned herself human? C'mon, that would be AWESOME.
c. Audios I would probably listen to again: 42, Satan Pit, New Earth, Smith & Jones. And possibly Gridlock, but I'd probably only make it part way through. And if I had Impossible Planet, that, too. Oh, and if I'm wishing for impossible things, I'd listen to: Rose, Unquiet Dead, Empty Child, Doctor Dances, those two at the end of s1, School Reunion, Girl in the Fireplace, Blink...hrm. And possibly all of this season.
d. Audios I've already listened to three times: Time of the Angels, Flesh and Stone.

I need to find my copy of War of Nerves so I can finish out the Foyle audios, too. SIGH.

I have to rustle up A War of Nerves, too, and get the last of the Foyle audio'd. Sigh.
Also, if you get this comment twice I DO NOT KNOW why.

Summer colds are the worst, especially with the crazy 90-frakking-degree weather we've been having lately. Colds are for winter, for soup and sofa crashing with a fuzzy blanket. Having one is summer throws off the natural order of the Universe.
Sadly, I think I'm coming down with one myself. *kicks work*
