So, V. Trucco was in it last night.

I've never watched it, as the premise didn't really interest me. If you're a fan, please don't take this the wrong way, but that was possibly the most boring hour I've ever spent.

1. Probably the worst run resistance in the history of ever. They stand around talking. A lot. And Everything Is Dramatic. But nothing actually seems to happen. Also, they kill people and fire off guns, but local law enforcement? Never seems to notice.

2. Most pointless and useless alien invaders, ever. They don't seem to do anything, either. Anna slinks around, the camera making her head seem twice as big as everyone else's, whilst her minions... fail at torturing people (also, wow, only the Japanese know torture, huh?). And then they fail at guarding the resistance member, allowing another resistance member to murder him and save him from more torture. Not to mention, they seem to not care about the rest of the resistance members running around (they catch them with a spy camera, AND a tracking device, but fail to do a fucking thing about it). Now, if Anna were Cavil, that would be because she knew that most of the Final Five were running the resistance and were playing with them for the hell of it. But this isn't BSG, sadly.

3. John May is dead. This is unsurprising. he died so that other male aliens could understand that the LOVE of a GOOD human WOMAN was all they needed to save their SOULS. Or something like that. Ladies, remember, ONLY YOUR VAGINAS can stop male aliens from wanting to destroy our planet. Isn't it great to have one?

4. Trucco, at least, was lovely to watch. More charismatic and interesting than the entire main cast combined, sadly. Even if he was being Karl Agathon. (I demand RPF where Katee and Tricia twit him about that)

5. There was also something about how women are always incapable of constancy or something, and Krycek had a woodworking shop (watch the one-handed man build a house!), so, no difference there. (seriously, "the tests say he isn't your daddy, but my dialogue never says clearly that I never slept with another man, oh, I'm such a slut..." was sort of the gist of that entire subplot)

6. Oh, and the trapped resistance dude died. I'm sure, if I'd been watching the show, I would have felt something more about it, but mostly, I was just yawning and going "GET IT OVER WITH". The actors weren't all that good on selling how tragic it was, either. (now, the dude playing John Mays' teenage kid was actually pretty good in the "OMGWTFWTFWTF" department, even if, seriously, you guys, killing his girlfriend should have made him freak out more)

Seriously, this was the most boring, bland and dull SF show it's been my misfortune to watch. Hell, even Tru Calling was more interesting, and that show was completely crap.

Lyssie, you shouldn't hold in your feelings. It can give you indigestion. Really, let it all out.

I really only started watching V when it came back from hiatus because Trucco was going to be on it. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to stick with it, unless Trucco comes back (no body, no convincing me he's dead yet).

Yeah, there were many problems with this episode. I hated who John May turned out to be - first V to love a woman blah blah. Ugh.

But I'm still really getting into the show and I can't explain why. Probably because I think Anna can be just completely badass. I do wish the Resistance would talk less and do more!

3. LOL RIGHT? I was like, "wait what? So he came to Earth, got introduced to vagina and had some sexytiemz and BAM! he's all 'Humans are Love. God is love, Gaius... wait wrong show" John May was like a whipped version of Anders, totally lacking BAMC.

4. I demand RPF where Katee and Tricia twit him about that
-echoes demand-

5. Obviously the Vs didn't consult the Cylons before taking over our world, because if they did, we'd be scattered somewhere in the atmosphere by now. Silly lizards. Passive-aggressiveness only works for so long.

Yeah, the show had potential but the "Resistance" is seriously ineffectually. They talk a lot of the Fifth Column but we never see anything. John May was supposed to be this amazing revolutionary who started the whole thing and all we get is him running with a rifle for 30 seconds.

Okay then.

You know whats really funny? I actually thought last nights episode was more exciting than the previous episodes I watched. Or at least the parts I saw between flipping back and forth between Parenthood and The Good Wife which I think I will be sticking with them. I watched for the Trucco parts but even that was sort meh and I found myself giggling at most of his big speeches.

No, they didn't get that across well. Nor did they explain why compassion is in such short supply in Vdom despite the fact that they can feel it meaning that it must be inherent in their species. I also went "huh" about John May saying "have you ever seen a woman who literally took your breath away." Why would lizard people find humans aesthetic to that degree? I thought Ryan was drawn to Valerie by her personality.

The change of showrunners was advertised as something that would make the show better, but it's been the reverse.

I think the Resistance people are almost comical. There are only four people. And sometimes they talk about this "Fifth Column" - but little seems to actually come of it.

John May was adorable - but since they ended up just using him as a plot device to explain Ryan's character - it wasn't adequate to the build up they previously gave the character.

Anna has so much potential to be interesting. And then she flirts with Chad. ::yawn:: I'm trying to will Erica to be interesting. But then she whimpers about her illegitimate son. ::yawn::

And Everything Is Dramatic. But nothing actually seems to happen.

I think that's actually the motto of the Resistance. I mean, I'll agree with Merry that the first few weren't quite the snorefest of last night, but only by a little.

And I like the premise, but otherwise yes to all this. I can't even make it worth the effort to be irritated that it finally got worse.

x.x one of my friends keeps saying she thinks V really wishes they thought of Cylons. If it wasn't ancient I'd think it was derivative. (Then again, someone talked me into seeing the original miniseries and that killed any desire I might have had for watching the modern show. It was just.... well, let's say.. not my style. I mean the 80s hair was great and all but otherwise not so much.)
