1. Pizza Man, a restaurant in a building I drive by every single day has burned down. You can see some stuff about it here:

1b. I didn't know why I smelled smoke this morning, but when I was turning on the lake road, I heard a report about it (no lie, my first thought was "thank god it wasn't Sil's" I'm more fond of coffee and wee!donuts than pizza, apparently).

1c. It is going to be SO WEIRD to see that corner without Pizza Man on it.

1d. Thank goodness no one died, even if the people who lived in the building are now homeless.

2. FOX IS DEVELOPING A US TORCHWOOD. Anyone else want to create a comm for snarking like hell? We know it's going to be awful, much like the US Coupling. (also, I'm not sure why Fox is going for SF again, since they keep canceling it. At least this show isn't about how rape is awesome and rapists are intersting.)

3. Quin is still v fluffy.

:( for the restaurant that wasn't a chain restaurant...it should have been one of them, frak it!!! Why?!?!?!?! :P

My hometown was founded by Germans in the 1870s, and the center of town still has a bunch of old, GORGEOUS architectural masterpieces from that era...well, one less after a huge windstorm that completely obliterated this beautiful old, two story house...they tore it down and put up this modern brick home...it looks like CRAP compared to what used to stand there. :(

My first reaction when I heard the US Torchwood news was utter confusion. Like you said, Fox just keeps canceling sci-fi. Whyyy do they keep trying to make it work when they're never happy with the ratings?! And I'm not even going to start on my absolute aversion to the whole idea because a US Torchwood on network tv is just...NO.

The Torchwood thing...I don't even know how they'd do it, since most of the TW mythology is based on Doctor Who. Also...WHY?! If the show is awesome to begin with, why mess with it?!

The only Torchwood I want to see is the one run by Gwen 'way more bad-ass than you' Cooper. The one with Lois & Johnson & PC Andy. With occasional appearances by Martha & Mickey. And little domestic scenes with Rhys and the baby. Why not make that version?

I heard someone say Barrowman might do the US version. If that's the case, you can bet Cpt Jack won't be omnisexual anymore:)

Because American versions of British TV shows have historically worked out SO WELL, especially ones based on 40+ year old British tv series.

It will be ridiculously not-bi at all. In fact, I can't even contemplate the sterilisation that will inevitably happen.
