meme time: drabbles

The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request that I write a drabble of any pairing/character of their choosing. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level. (If you absolutely can't write, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to offer drawings or icons or something instead.)

In other news, I went ahead and took over as mod at
femslash50 (fifty femslash fics using a table), and I'm debating what to do.
Alice/Duchess?
Sam Carter/Kara Thrace?
Kara Thrace?
Gwen/Tosh?
Chiana?
Laura Cadman?
Elizabeth/Teyla?
Leverage? (omg Sophie/Parker, Maggie/Sophie, Maggie/Parker, Sophie/Tara, Parker/Tara...)
Sigh. The possibilities are endless.
Eta: Also, I'm, still tempted to create femslashinozland for Oz/Wonderland femslash (in all incarnations). And I still haven't figured out a good name for an Alice/White Queen comm. ('A Queen and Her Champion' makes a good tag line, though)

Earth has coffee. Billy clings to that, because it's something that makes sense in the chaos that surrounds him (ok, Earth isn't really all that different--just without the space ships and evil robots). The problem is: fitting those in the fleet into a planet that thinks computer networks are the future and the future is now.
Which is why coffee is good, because he can stand near the counter (trying not to loom over the cop in front of him), and wait for his caffeine like a normal person who doesn't worry about things like apocalypses.
"The vanilla is better," the cop says, half-turning to look up at him.
"Pardon?" She must be waiting, too.
"The coffee." A smile almost crosses her lips as she looks up and up at him, almost having to crane (Billy almost hunches in response, but he got over that after Dee). "It's not strong enough," she continues, rattling off half a dozen facts about the type he's going to get.
Billy isn't really listening, though, because she's treating him like a normal person. It's so new and weird that he blurts out his name.
"Caroline Barek." The smile is actually there as she shakes his hand.
The bored barista calls out an order to go, and Caroline gives an apologetic shrug, "That's me. My partner's waiting."
"Oh. Uh, thanks."
She pats his arm, but it's not in that motherly way Roslin sometimes has. More in the flirty way the girls on Galactica had, and Billy feels a little unsettled again. "Try the vanilla tomorrow," Caroline says over her shoulder.
The barista calls Billy's order, and he takes it, brain reeling enough that he burns his tongue on the first sip.
Tomorrow. Yeah. He can do tomorrow.

BAREK AND BILLY AND COFFEE AND OMG.
For real, I love that boy like I CANNOT EXPLAIN! And her flirting with him! And him being all "...AWESOME BUT OMG FLAIL." *smooshes them together*
Also, him blurting out his name (my brain says 'bleat' and OMG I LOVE HIM SO MUCH) is probably the best thing ever. OMG.

Parker leans into Syd because there's comfort in his presence, and it's a distraction from her nicotine craving. She tries to convince herself that it's for no other reason. That she isn't wishing that he had a magic wand (that she had one) that would end this.
There's no one to see them, standing on the cliff that Jarod's latest clues led them to. So frustrating to come up empty once more. A part of her wants to fire her pistol, take aim at the ants running around the base of their vantage point.
"We were close." He murmurs, as though not wanting to break the mood but knowing he should.
She grunts. "Close isn't good enough." She grabs for the hair trying to get into her mouth and the movement pulls her away from him, closer to the edge.
"Are you planning to jump?" As though that's a perfectly natural thing to want to do on a mountain-top, surrounded by failure.
Parker laughs, but the sound is derisive. "Wouldn't that just make Lyle's day." Her fingers itch again, and she wonders if a cigarette would be a bad idea before discarding the thought immediately. "Let's go, there's nothing."

You haven't written it in a while, and you write it so well.

I'll accept Talia/anyone in a pinch. ;)

"This is your second favorite thing?" Talia was trying for disdain, but she couldn't help the lurking amusement that colored her words as the Roadrunner dodged an anvil, but the coyote did not.
Mr. Garibaldi ("Call me Michael." "No, I don't think so, Mr. Garibaldi.") was lounging on the other side of the couch, attention torn between watching her watch the screen and the screen itself. He grinned at her, "Yeah, well, you can't go wrong with the classics."
"I suppose not," she admitted, turning back to the screen in time to wince as a rocket blasted the coyote into the ground.
"Y'know," he said, shifting slightly on the couch, "You ever get the feeling that bein' on this station is a little like bein' the coyote?"
"Howso?" It would be easy to prod his surface thoughts--he'd never know. Not really. But she wanted his answer out loud, not easily plucked from the air. Plucking was cheating, some days.
"Well, there's Sheridan with all of his peaceful ideas and solutions, and then there's reality. It's kind of like watching the anvil fall over and over again, only this time, it's on Sheridan's head--or mine, or Ivanova's. While the Roadrunner, well, he gets away."
Huh. When he put it like that, it made a scary kind of sense. Talia glanced at him. "Mr. Garibaldi," she said, tone firm, "You think too much."
"Funny, I always got the impression you believe I think too little." He returned, eyes amused.
Talia shrugged, and turned her eyes back to the screen. "Maybe I'm not always right."
He let the silence fall, surrounding them with cheesy cartoon music, miniscule explosions, and the constant, irritating "Meep-meep!" of the Roadrunner.
MEEP MEEP
*chatters happily to self*
