Meme time.

Tell me three things you think I would never write and I will attempt to write at least a paragraph from one of them.

(if I'm not distracted with The Five Things That Never Happened to Astrid Farnsworth and the One That Did... Astrid, Weather Goddess, anyone?)

You're not on AIM anymore. :(

Will think about the meme...hmm...things you'd never write...

Okay, three things I don't think you'd write:

1) Sam/Seelix shippy fic
2) Any female character killing another one. (Not applicable if it happened in canon)
3) ...Elizabeth/Jack Sparrow sex during the ten-year interval. ;-) (This doesn't really count as possible paragraph fic. Seriously, don't do it.)

female killing female

It hadn't been hard to get added to the detail escorting another group of prisoners to the Astral Queen (once more a prison ship, this time for mutineers and people too stupid to pick the winning side). No one looked twice at the caption suited up, her eyes hollow. There were too few marines as it was for them to care.

She was just another body going with them.

Once there, it wasn't difficult to find the cell she was looking for. It was in a more deserted area, and she guessed they were segregating women from men. Or perhaps Seelix was trouble, and she was in some sort of solitary. The one guard didn't even look twice at Kara as she walked past.

Seelix didn't even look surprised to see her.

"The frak do you want, freak?" She snarled, already on her feet as Kara opened the cell.

The cage looked almost comfortable, and Seelix didn't look deprived in any way. People had died and Seelix was comfortable. Frak, Sam was a vegetable, his brain dead and buried and Diana Seelix was standing in front of her, freshly-washed and pressed. Clean and healthy, and guilt-free.

For a moment, red burned across Kara's vision. She throttled it down, pushing it away, trying to breathe easier. Her breath still came too fast, sweat slithering down her back as though she'd run a marathon.

During her time with Leoben, Kara had learned a few tricks. Controlling her breathing and pulse never worked, but she could misdirect with the best of them. "I know what you did," she said, tone idle as she turned away, one hand brushing the bars. The sharp piece of metal up her sleeve slid noiselessly into her fingers, the dull edge perfect for gripping.

Turning back, she found that Seelix wasn't even looking at her. "I fought against the frakking enemy."

Solid, comforting. Those words no longer meant anything to Kara. "Did you hear Anders got shot?" Still conversational. As though it wasn't something that had ripped out a piece of her heart in a way she'd never expected. She stepped closer.

"Hope the frakker dies--" Seelix laughed, scorn in her voice, "Are you gonna miss spreading your legs for a Cylon, Starbuck?"

Kara smiled, knowing it didn't reach her eyes. "At least he loved me. You were just a lame piece of ass on the side."

A dark look flashed through Seelix's eyes and she stepped into Kara, obviously pissed enough to do something rash. She took a swing and Kara blocked it, taking advantage of the vulnerability of Seelix's torso. She looked so surprised when the metal shard sliced into her belly and pushed upwards.

Clamping a hand over Seelix's mouth, Kara half-supported her as the blood flowed out over her fingers, soaking into the front of her flight suit.

"It's easier if you don't make a sound. You die quicker. It hurts less." She's not actually sure that's true, but Leoben never made a sound, and he never complained about the pain afterwards. He just returned, again and again.

Seelix struggled suddenly, a feeble effort that Kara ignored as she used the movement to drive the metal still-deeper. Justice.

This was frakking justice, and Kara wanted to laugh suddenly. She clamped her lips closed as Seelix slowly went limp in her arms. Eventually, Kara lowered her to the ground, checking for the lack of pulse before she wrenched her metal piece free and cleaned it. Her hands were wet and she cleaned them, too, using Seelix's soft sheet to wipe her flight suit down. Most of what remained looked like streaks of grease, and no one would look twice at a pilot coated in grease.

Kara knew she looked exhausted when she returned to the raptor to leave. One of the marines gave her an odd look. "Sir?"

"I'm good. Just cleaned up some trash while I was here." Kara smiled a little and he stepped back involuntarily. "Let's get out of this hellhole."

Er...thanks. This has cured me of my Seelix-hate, perhaps permanently. Which is...good? Ugh, I am so inconsistant. Or else I should have actually rewatched the mutiny eps before reading it.

Oh, wait! That's THREE things you'd never write! Um...

John/Rodney, something completely Harlequinesque

The BSG AU where Lee and Laura were madly in love.

(I have ideas, but no time before sleep. still, one is done)

(Harlequin doesn't bring to mind romance novels, to be honest...)

The play was the thing. A thousand glittering eyes to watch and gasp as they went through the dance. As Rodney flirted with him, then turned and ran (the perfect Columbine, his cheeks rouged and his skirts flasing just a peep of his not-so-shapely ankles).

Giving chase was part of the game, even if cart-wheeling in the stiff costume was no easy thing. The collar chafed the back of his neck, and John thought longingly of Rodney's gentle hands on his skin.

It would, of course, all be worth it--for the kisses stolen in the dressing-room and Rodney's fulsome pleas afterwards. The taste of sweat and salt in the back of his mind, John threw an extra flourish in and bounded to the applause as it roared over him, washing away his discomfort in a sea of accord.

Wow - you took something that should have been just cracktastic and somehow made it awesome.

The taste of sweat and salt in the back of his mind, John threw an extra flourish in and bounded to the applause as it roared over him, washing away his discomfort in a sea of accord.
This is a really great sentence.

* Jo Grant, Kara Thrace, and Laura Cadman.

* Kara thinks Rygel is the key to stopping the Cylons once and for all.

* Aeryn Sun, Cadman, and Lorne.

#1. Lee had an arm hooked over Willie's waist, keeping her snug against his side. His daughter didn't seem to mind dangling upside-down as he walked away from the tiny schoolhouse that had finally been built. She was singing as loud as possible, the words bouncing and jolting with movement. Obviously, he and her mother needed to have a talk about appropriate songs for children to learn (Caprican drinking songs did not land on that lst). Kara would probably just laugh at him--she always did when it came to things like that. Apparently, she wasn't worried about the mental health of their child. Sometimes, Lee didn't think he could blame her much.
