1. Reducing Kara Thrace to "she was sexually available to every man and should have been to Cain, too" is degrading and not funny.

2. I was forced to re-watch The Locket last night. Sigh. Still fanfic.

3. I managed to finish up some Jo Grant fic and post it to allen_road. Unsweetened Tea sat around on my hard drive for a while, though I'm not really sure why.

4. It was so cold this morning in our apartment that the only difference was I could see my breath outside. Also, it was warmer inside the refrigerator. (I was calling to find out wtf, when I discovered the radiator was warming up. If it doesn't stay warm, I'll go back to calling)

5. yay, netflix gave me more Marple.

Not sure I'm following who actually thinks what but to be somewhat serious for a moment. RDM tended to tout that BSG was a sexuality discrimination free world. You'd think there would actually be bisexual characters in it and Kara could easily be one. Suggesting that fraking whoever whenever when the world falls apart makes someone a whore needs to check themselves for a pulse. Frak today, die tomorrow is pretty human. Grabbing who ever is next to you is way human regardless of sexuality when your actually thinking. Ant pilot not fraking at any given opportunity is would mean BSG had Puritans before we on earth ever thought of them. Can't see whore actually translating into BSG universe, personal commodities trader maybe.

Well, somewhere out there, people think it's funny to consider Kara Thrace nothing more than a mindless blow-up doll.

I don't think it's funny. I find it degrading.

This has nothing to do with sex, finding sex dirty, or thinking bi-sexuality is wrong.

This has everything to do with the way media keeps stripping any sort of agency from women so they become nothing more than walking, talking masturbation sleeves.

And if having sex in BSG was treated without any sort of dirt attached to it, why does Lee imply Kara's a slut, and Racetrack out-right call Sharon a whore? If slut and whore aren't terms to degrade people (specifically women), then what sort of weight do they have? I doubt they're some sort of neutral insult like 'idiot'.
