I promise no more spam after this.

1. I was reading the Trixie Belden entry at wiki, and it mentions how the Trixie fans dislike Nancy Drew. No one should be surprised that I now want hatesex crossover femslash, right? Though, I don't think there'd actually be hate. But Trixie/Nancy would be highlarious.

2. Also hilarious? Re-casting the Disney Three Musketeers with Cylons. Athos is Caprica, Aramis is Leoben, Porthos is Boomer, D'Artagnan is... D'Anna. Richelieu is Cavil (obvsly). Doral gets to be twins like Paul McGann! and play Jussac and Girard. Simon is Rochefort. (it all started when I named Jean's Six Sabine, you know)

3. Note to self: Tomorrow, you need to actually DO SOME WRITING, yo. Not just editing of nearly-done fic.

THAT'S A LIE.

I mean, I liked Trixie better, but I liked 'em both. I CHOOSE NOT TO CHOOSE!

HAHAHAH. Yes,see. That was my reaction, outside of a bit of O.o.

Yeah, second that. Nancy was a bit too perfect, and Trix was more...real girl, but without Nancy, our Schoolgirl Shamus might not have come to be. And whose heart doesn't flutter a wee bit when Jim gives her that ID bracelet? Ned was never that studly.

Did I ever mention that I attended a TrixieCon in Williamsburg over Sept 11 weekend? Quite the fun time, up until the national disaster part of the program.

Ideally, this hatesex crossover femmeslash comes about because Trixie has had a huge fight with Honey, run off in a pout, and winds up falling into one of Nancy's oh-so-frequent misjudgements where they wind up tied up in an abandoned farmhouse or something somewhere. (This adds an intriguing potential bondage element)

I loved both, myself, but Trixie totally wins. She's more practical, she has more friends, and she's not Super Hot With A Cool Car And College Boyfriend. Let's face it, she creams Nancy on Real Girl points alone, let alone detective ability.

Man, I miss Trixie Belden. Are there any hardcore fansites out there with etexts or something? They're getting really hard to find even at the second-hand bookshops, these days.

Bwahahah. Yes. Well.

I think it's possible I identified with Trixie a great deal, as I come from a large family.

I cannot verify the goodness:

I can vouch for the barbln site; I go infrequently, but they are nice people. The chat board is here. http://www.barbln.org/clubhouse/

The books 1-15 were reprinted a few years back in a really pretty format, and the used versions are all over eBay. Which books are you missing? I have some extras.

After years of moving around, splitting households etc, I think I have maybe one or two books left. I never had a complete set - used to get a lot of them from libraries as we moved around.

I didn't know they'd been reprinted, though! I must get me these things... and start trawling ebay again. That worked quite well with the Drina books.

1. You are, I am sure, TOTALLY stunned to hear that I love Trixie Belden and Nancy Drew both. Damn it.

2. I kind of want someone who knows BSG better to write that fic, because I fangirl The Three Musketeers. (Constance deserves better. Queen Anne rules, in both a literal sense as she's the queen, and in a somewhat more metaphorical sense.)

3. Writing, yay! I should do that.

1. Bowled over! =D

2. hahah. I'm not even sure if the rest of the cast should all be Cylons or not. Though I've no actual plans for writing, so.

1. Fucking female character rivalry bullshit. Whatever.

2. I just think someone should write it. Not necessarily you. :) But just casting things out can be fun too.

The Six Jean drowned on New Caprica, actually. There's some weird resonance in her being the one Caprica (Athos) kills, after all.

LOL D'Anna as D'Artagnan is <3.

the Trixie fans dislike Nancy Drew

It would never have occurred to me as a generality, but I suppose I'm an example of it. Although I was mostly just indifferent to Nancy Drew. I was all "WTF? She's out of school and has a job and a car and a boyfriend. Has everyone failed to notice she's a GROWNUP? Why do I care? 'Girl' detective my ass!" (And yes, at eight or nine or whatever, I completely missed that "girl" referred merely to her gender and not to her age, because why would the former matter? True child of the 70s, that's me.)

Yes! That's sort of been my thing with Nancy, but I didn't mind that she wasn't a young'un. Just that, for a while, she wasn't MY age.
