RIP Captain Britain and MI13

I'm just... man. This book was so awesome, and now it's over and done with. There were people who were characters first and genders second, but also with their own personalities and bits and pieces. There were silly plotlines and things of magic and derring-do. There was the reclamation of Meggan.

There was Dracula trying to take over Britain and Doom being adorable.

There was a team that worked well together, with wit and grooviness.

And they are all put back in the box at Marvel. The friendships, romances, bits and pieces of their lives that were in this book will be ignored by the next person to write them, I'm sure. Not that many will write people like Brian, Meggan, Lady Jac or Alistaire Stuart. Wisdom and Blade will certainly have their day elsewhere, and the Avengers can always use the Black Knight again.

But Faiza and her family will be forgotten quickly, such is the way of bit characters who aren't mighty heroes or damsels in distress.

It's just as well Kitty Pryde is still dead stuck in a bullet in the middle of space, traveling away from the planet Earth. Wisdom's having wine with other women.

Uh, Kitty's still alive, she's just stuck inside a bullet travelling through interstellar space.

Yeah. We all know she'll come back and Pete will totally ditch the wine-drinking tarts.

Point. I just consider it mostly dead. *edits*

It is good. It is depressing because it's over, but it's good.

I'm sorry... I think my brain froze on "Doom being adorable."

ok, so it may not be adorable for other people. BUT FOR ME. It made me cackle, clap my hands and cheer.

It was all so good. I want to see the story about Faiza and her dad now. I'm really happy that Meggan got a great return, though! So many writers don't know what to do with her, but Cornell's Meggan was just delightful.

I just. YEs. I love that they're going to deal with that, that her dad isn't just DEAD. Sigh. I wanna seeee it.

And he did wonderful, fabulous things with Meggan (especially after the various bits of fail like making her CATATONIC).

Man, how awesome was Dracula? And how much awesomer was Pete made because of it?? Good gods, the planning on both sides.

I'm trying to poke Cornell and convince him it's a good idea to have Rachel go and rescue Kitty from the space bullet and have wacky space adventures.

I will nominate you for a well deserved sainthood if you can manage that miracle!

YES. Both were planning, but I loved how Pete summed it all up with "of course you cheat if you want the pawns to stay alive" basically.

Good luck =D I'm trying not to have her pop into Torchwood, as they sort of need her skill set.

Actually? If the trade or a few issues is at the comic store, I highly recommend flipping through it before actually buying it. On the one hand, I do think it was pretty awesome. But on the other, I also like weird crack and might be a bit blinded by the way it all played out?
