ugh, I need a clone.
1. In Plain Sight info for the next season http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b138334_in_plain_sight_outgoing_boss_reveals.html (I really hope this doesn't mean stupid things will happen)
2. Saw the GI Joe movie last night. Unlike Public Enemies, which bored me to almost napping, would see again. Need to type up review at some point (on the whole, I liked it, save one jarring bit that still makes me want to punch someone).
3. Am working my way through Torchwood. Have managed to get through Eureka 3.0. I need to write down thoughts on both, and actually post my thoughts on Eureka 2.
4. femslash kink meme still going.

Eureka makes me happy. It is silly and unpretentiously happy with its silliness and is quirky and light and non-depressing.
*loves*
Also, I just finished watching all of the New Who, and I am no longer friends with anyone who watched this show and did not tie me down and force me to watch it.
Which is another way of saying: "OMG! I'm an IDIOT! WHY have I not been watching this before now?"

Er, I sort of find newskool really spotty? I haven't actually been interested enough to finish either seasons three or four--and I adore Martha. But the Master was really annoying (I'm possibly the only person in the world who wishes John Simm had never been given the role).
So, I wouldn't have recommended it.

I liked Who because of the fun and silly, and also, yeah, Martha was kickass.
I really disliked the whole Master thing too, though.
But I have to admit, I really did like Who--though I've never seen any old-school, so I have nothing to compare it too. :)
I'm all about the not-too-thinky TV these days. Or at least, TV that isn't ALWAYS thinky, or Thinky TV that can be laughed at for its pretentious thinkiness.

Martha is awesomesauce despite the ridiculous "Rose is Better" slant on so much of the fandom/writing.
I like newskool if I disconnect my brain. Did the original series have racist problems? OH HELL YES. But that was 30+ years ago. You'd think someone would have realized how skanky it would be to have the Doctor constantly miss the White Girl while he traveled with his first NON-white companion (other than Mickey, who also got shafted because the White Girl was better).
(others have ranted and commented on the rest of the fail better than I, luckily)

2. I had trouble liking that movie and I could watch Christian Bale and Johnny Depp read the phonebook but those handheld camera's were annoying. I liked it overall though.

Monk is a different animal, really. I think the problem is they're going to try making it 'quirkier' which is ridiculous.
It wasn't even just the camera work. I felt like nothing happened the entire movie. Also, so few women and the one single non-white person? Five seconds of screen-time and killed off camera.
