ugh, I need a clone.

1. In Plain Sight info for the next season http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b138334_in_plain_sight_outgoing_boss_reveals.html (I really hope this doesn't mean stupid things will happen)

2. Saw the GI Joe movie last night. Unlike Public Enemies, which bored me to almost napping, would see again. Need to type up review at some point (on the whole, I liked it, save one jarring bit that still makes me want to punch someone).

3. Am working my way through Torchwood. Have managed to get through Eureka 3.0. I need to write down thoughts on both, and actually post my thoughts on Eureka 2.

4. femslash kink meme still going.

1. Well, fuck. I like that series as is. I should probably see the finale, though.

I prefer it as is. It's sort of that waiting game I play with every show--will it come back horrific?

YES. OH, YES.

(Tell me, has Leverage come back awesome? I haven't been watching s2 yet.)

2. Okay, I'm looking forward to your review. (I'm wondering if the bit you found jarring is one of the parts that made me facepalm. Although the facepalm-y moments had a lot to do with particle accelerators.)

2. Possibly. I need to work up some steam again, having gotten it knocked out of me by, um, Torchwood.

I have a love/hate relationship with Torchwood. I love it until it does things that make me scream at the TV. And then I hate it and refuse to finish watching the last four episodes of Children of Earth. :)

Eureka makes me happy. It is silly and unpretentiously happy with its silliness and is quirky and light and non-depressing.

*loves*

Also, I just finished watching all of the New Who, and I am no longer friends with anyone who watched this show and did not tie me down and force me to watch it.

Which is another way of saying: "OMG! I'm an IDIOT! WHY have I not been watching this before now?"

Eureka makes me sad--season 3.0 was actually more soul-crushing than the entire year of BSG.

Er, I sort of find newskool really spotty? I haven't actually been interested enough to finish either seasons three or four--and I adore Martha. But the Master was really annoying (I'm possibly the only person in the world who wishes John Simm had never been given the role).

So, I wouldn't have recommended it.

I suppose I'm not really looking at Eureka or Who for any high quality art--I just like the light, silly stuff.

I liked Who because of the fun and silly, and also, yeah, Martha was kickass.

I really disliked the whole Master thing too, though.

But I have to admit, I really did like Who--though I've never seen any old-school, so I have nothing to compare it too. :)

I'm all about the not-too-thinky TV these days. Or at least, TV that isn't ALWAYS thinky, or Thinky TV that can be laughed at for its pretentious thinkiness.

nononoo. See. I love Eureka. But season three? NOT LIGHT AND FLUFFY. It sort of was, but there's... stuff that really wasn't. Sure, they don't DWELL on it, but still!

Martha is awesomesauce despite the ridiculous "Rose is Better" slant on so much of the fandom/writing.

I like newskool if I disconnect my brain. Did the original series have racist problems? OH HELL YES. But that was 30+ years ago. You'd think someone would have realized how skanky it would be to have the Doctor constantly miss the White Girl while he traveled with his first NON-white companion (other than Mickey, who also got shafted because the White Girl was better).

(others have ranted and commented on the rest of the fail better than I, luckily)

1 Well the good news is there not getting rid of Rafe but the bad news is their fucking with an awesome show. I just hope their not trying to turn it into Monk, that show is so dumb. Typical fucking network idiots they have a good successful show (Mary got shortlisted for an Emmy for fuck sake) and so they must "make it fit their brand".

2. I had trouble liking that movie and I could watch Christian Bale and Johnny Depp read the phonebook but those handheld camera's were annoying. I liked it overall though.

Raph.

Monk is a different animal, really. I think the problem is they're going to try making it 'quirkier' which is ridiculous.

It wasn't even just the camera work. I felt like nothing happened the entire movie. Also, so few women and the one single non-white person? Five seconds of screen-time and killed off camera.
