So, Leverage.
Spoilers for 2.1 and 2.2.
I loved last week. Hands-down LOVED it.
I can't even put it all into words. Only Maggie being involved would have made it better.
This week... I'm torn. I liked some of it, but there was... kind of a serious edge that undermined the light-hearted glee?
I'm ok with them getting caught.
I am! I just... it felt sort of stupid. Not to mention... I rarely, the first time through, catch the secondary twist/con. This time? I caught it about ten seconds in. I don't think that's good.
On the other hand, I find it very interesting that last week, they went after the banks (and the men who bilked the government out of money and etc). And this week, they went after the plight of 'small town America', trying to make everyone feel a bit as though they'd been forced to watch 'Roger and Me'.
Of course. R&M is about Detroit and the death of the steel industry, and Leverage was about boxing (or something, and thank GOD they didn't make it the Hardison episode, since NCIS already did that whole 'black people like boxing' one last season), but the idea that they're trying to be a bit.... I'm not sure how to put it?
Socially conscious?
Like, when Bones does wierd subcultures and whatever, it's almost anthropological. I wasn't expecting it from Leverage?
All that aside, I did mostly like the episode.
I'm not really liking Sophie's new hair, though. Sadly. And Parker was weirdly... off. Was she on drugs this time, or just REALLY BORED?

Also yes, the con was way too obvious, plus the Eliot HULK EYES OF RAGE thing was ridiculous.
