sleepy update
Went to eye doc. He dilated both eyes, which made driving exceedingly difficult. He also wants to see me again tomorrow, so I'm stuck in St. Louis one more day.
As far as I can tell, a piece of mortar/firework slammed into my glasses, breaking the lens out (the lens is scratched up), and the lens sliced into my eye while the bulk of the debris was mostly impacted against the frames of my glasses (I have a vertical cut on my eyelid that probably came from that, not the glasses).
I'm fucking lucky I was wearing my glasses, and it sort of scares the shit out of me to think about what MIGHT have happened if I'd taken them off earlier in the evening.
The eye doctor today pulled a piece of corneal epithelial that was hanging off one side of the scratch out, too. Didn't feel a thing, since he had numbed my eyes again. Though it definitely helped, since I'd been feeling it a bit, once I was awake. Sort of that dry-eyes-itching thing? Now I don't feel that. Also good, he says my eyes are exceedingly healthy.
The eyesight in my left eye has always sucked, so relying on it isn't exactly a good plan. On top of which, I've got the slice (which is healing, yay), AND the iris is all sensitive to light, so it keeps spasming in the light (which is painful, and also makes driving not fun).
I will drive home tomorrow, though. I miss being home, and I need to not miss ANOTHER day of work (though work was awesome and said to take what I needed).
At least I now know my insurance info.

Speedy healing! I'm glad, too, omg. Though if they give you an eyepatch, you could be a pirate. :)
