proof I am such a geek.

Or sucker. ymmv.

THERE IS STAR TREK CEREAL, YOU GUYS. It is Lucky Charms, BUT WITH MARSHMALLOWS SHAPED LIKE ST INSIGNIAS.

(also, I am officially proved ridiculous in the OTP side of things, as I now have a Kara/Sam photo autographed by KS and MT. *facepalm*)

Sadly, I don't think it is. It has something about being made of whole grain oats?

[identity profile] kiri-l.livejournal.com 2009-05-16 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Uncontaminated oats I can handle, Fortunate that way. =)

Ok here is an ingredient list I snapped off the web for a travel size lucky charms box. Not sure if it exactly matches what you have but.. here goes
frosted toasted oat cereal with marshmallows in individual serving size box.
Ingredients: oat flour, marshmallow bits (sugar, modified corn starch, corn syrup, dextrose, gelatin, calcium carbonate, yellow 5&6, blue I, red 40, artificial flavor), sugar, corn syrup, corn starch, salt, calcium carbonate, color added, trisodium phosphate, zinc and iron (mineral nutrients), vitamin C (sodium ascorbate), a B vitamin (niacinamide), artificial flavor, vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride), vitamin B2 (riboflavin), vitamin B1 (tiamin mononitrate), vitamin A (palmitate), a B vitamin (folic acid), vitamin B12, vitamin D, wheat starch, vitamin E (mixed topopherols) added to preserve freshness

Ok I bolded the item that strikes out immediately and makes this a no no. The oat flour *might* be ok. It is Kelloggs I'd have to look up my info on their sourcing / field rotations. but other than that.. is ok. I'm reading that other celiacs (in 06 and 07) have eaten this without problems. (It is possible they removed the wheat starch since this info was put up) But I'm sensitive so.. *shrugs*

Really I just want to see the marshmallows. Not sure it is worth buying a box for that. Hey.. can you take a picture of your cereal bowl one morning? *curious*

Pick'n'Save. YES. You, too, can be amazed. It was near an end-cap on the cereal aisle.

It's not the extra-gropy "look at our cool tats" one, but it's cute.

Not a big fan of Lucky Charms but the ST thing sounds neat:).

(*is jealous of awesome shippy pic*)

That's rather awesome! If I was allowed to eat wheat, I'd totally buy some!

Now I know what I'm getting my other half for breakfast!

just remember (a) you are 50% less ridiculous than me *g*, and (b) we like Michael and Katee to know that there are fans of Kara/Sam, too, so it's important that we make our voice heard once in a while. See,it's all very reasonable! *nods*

[identity profile] sabaceanbabe.livejournal.com 2009-05-16 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
My husband bought some of that. Along with a good half dozen boxes of all the Kellogg's (or whatever brand) that had the Star Trek toys and t-shirt tokens so he could get a free t-shirt. We don't eat cereal. *headdesk*

[identity profile] greycoupon.livejournal.com 2009-05-17 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
...

did he at least use coupons?

[identity profile] sabaceanbabe.livejournal.com 2009-05-17 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
No! He did not! There was not one coupon to be found!

I smiled when I read this. You may be a geek, but you're a fun geek.
