fuck you, Joe Quesada.
Don't like the sexism in Marvel comics? Don't read!
(you'll have to scroll down a bit to his comments on the new Marvel "for women" book with sexy chicks on the cover who spend the time complaining about boys and buying makeup. BEING A SUPERHERO IS SO HARD FOR WOMEN, YOU GUYS)
It's called Marvel Divas. *snaps fingers*

Because we'd rather have a book about women punching people than a book about women discussing men. FUNNY, THAT.

Weak.
And, um, if it's a book about women for women, intended to portray strong, relatable female characters, wouldn't it stand to reason that it should be written by women?

So glad I don't buy comics anymore, suddenly. I CAN'T IMAGINE WHY.

If they want to read comic books they can look at our demeaning artwork and sexist storylines, and if they don't want to read comic books there's not enough of them to earn us any money anyway!
These are the same women who are too stupid to realize that Syfy and Sci-Fi mean the same thing, I guess. That illusory female "market".

Sigh. What a pity they're so thick.

And if you feel like you’re not being heard or like your opinion doesn’t matter, just look at how much column space I devoted to your question.

To wit: I'm not going to Wizard World and sent the following message to the con organizers.
To Whom It May Concern,
I have been a long-time attendee of WizardWorld Chicago. In point of fact, I have been attending said convention from when it was still called Chicago Comicon. In years past I have paid for VIP tickets and spent a good bit of money at the Wizard booth.
Basically, I am a paying customer and wanted to let you know that I will no longer be attending your convention because of the sexist remarks made by this year's guest of honor, Joe Quesada in this article: http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=92159514&blogId=486588871
I was incredibly offended that valid concerns were blown off and that anyone who found sexism in Marvel books - and pointed it out - should basically put up with it.
Because of this, I will not be spending any time or money at your convention, and while I know that my $600-1000 is not that much in your wide scheme of things, it is still something. It is me saying that I do not appreciate a figurehead of a company where he has decision-making power telling me that my opinions and offense don't matter.
Thank you for your time,
-A.j.
