Man. Space opera. *hearts*
I think it's time to start hunting replacements for my 20-year-old Blake's 7 taped-off-PBS tapes. Sigh. They're all flippy, now. Which is sad.
Luckily, I know many parts by heart, so the dialog (which is generally lovelyish) is worth it. OH, GAMBIT. <3 <3 <3 <3 My heart forever remains yours.
(and I tried to skip Star One, but, well--and now I'm wondering if they knew they had third series approval)
Also, the Keldor City bit in the beginning of Star One makes me a wee bit teary-eyed
"Show me someone who believes in anything and I will show you a fool."
sigh. Man.

I just have to find the discs while I'm cleaning looking for other things. :)

(I am reminded that I still have one of your Decalogs around here, btw. I should possibly get it back to you before it gets mysteriously absorbed into the black hole that is my bookshelves)

I know exactly where it is.
It's a data-disc type rip, and I have all the seasons on one disc...
But I can probably make them normal type TV-type DVD's if need be.

And, yes, while it's annoying that they had too large a cast and started short-changing the women, at least we actually had women who weren't abused and raped to become 'strong people', which is something that is used highly in the SF media of today.
The sad thing is that, in some ways, Blake's 7 has far better treatment of women than any given show on the air today.
We've come so very far... not.

I'm on BSG-rebound, when it comes to the treatment of female characters, so just about EVERYTHING seems way better at it. (I'd also say that Gambit, Star One, and Assassin are pretty chock-full of the women doing things)
B7 is very very very full of gender fail a lot of the time (and race fail, too).
So, anyway, this is me apologizing for being snarky and short. I didn't intend to be.

I'm a late commer to BSG I initially hated it but now am a complete convert. I'm waiting for S4 to come out on DVD so I'm spoiler free at the moment.
I still watched B7 but for me it was never as good as the first 2 seasons.
However Servalan was magnificent throughout ;D
