Random Torchwood thought.

So... One of the bits of canon I picked up from the novels, which seems to be confirmed by comments in series 2 is that Tosh was recruited from a jail cell under UNIT, and Jack told her she couldn't have contact with her family ever again.

Is it that the novel writers just hadn't seen 'Captain Jack Harkness' by then, or did everyone just conveniently forget Tosh was going to a family reunion?

Yes. That's what I was pondering this morning as I dragged myself out of bed. I slept. A lot. And needed it, I think.

I am saddened there is no Sam Anders/Jack Harkness prompt for the porn battle.

I thought of a Tory/Master prompt, but only after submission was closed, dagnabbit.

That reminds me, I have to finish my Alec(Dark Angel)/Doctor/D'Anna fic sometime.

Not novel writers' fault, the whole jail thing was shown in season two and the show's writers/producers either forgot or didn't care.

Although having said that, if said novel was written before season two, then it may be their fault. I dunno.

Torchwood and consistensy don't seem to get on too much to be honest. :)

*g* Well, I was mostly assuming it was the production team and not the novelists' fault. Novelists can only work with what they're given, and if the character biography says, "arrested by UNIT"...

Yes. It's not the most glaring error.

Like others, I assume Jack was just putting on a show like he always did...Plus, I'm pretty sure Tosh could've worn him down. How could you say no to her?! *sobs*

In the S1 episode where they go back in time and meeting the "real" Jack Harkness, Tosh says she's going to her grandma's 80th birthday party that weekend.

Ack. See, I knew it was family-related, but it's been a long time. And half-awake? I was certain it was a family reunion. Sigh. Oh well.
