Meaning, of course, that "otherwise The Boy will remember that Leverage is on tonight and want to watch and I will cave in and let him and then he'll be up too late and prying him out of bed in time for the 7:10 school bus will be hell" rather than "The Boy is not allowed to watch Leverage". The Boy is both intelligent and discerning and adores Leverage. Then again, he also adores Primeval and the BBC Robin Hood and Weird Al so the case for discerning may be a bit tough.
