Well, we like a lot of the same characters, so I was concerned. ;) Kara, Sam, Natalie, Athena, Helo, Sparky, Dee...despite my icon, I am no huge fan of Leland Adama, but.
I probably will not, yeah. Most of the time I'm whatever on spoilers (because I'm insatiably curious by nature), but I never get surprised that way. Being surprised is fun. And I am also avoiding Burn Notice spoilers that another friend posted, so weee.
Actually, I have at least a few, and they're all annoyed that Dee is dead. Some of them liked her, some didn't, but they're not the ones pleased. (I don't know if the person I defriended was a Kara/Lee shipper, honestly).
The ratio of Kara/Lee to Kara/Sam shippers is a bit heavy towards the K/S side... But, for the most part, they're not pleased.
Otoh, I imagine there are crazies out there who are ecstatic. And I can just guess how gleeful the ladies of the Kara/Lee thread on Skiffy are.

Oh, I've never been so happy to have completely bypassed the sci-fi board part of the fandom. For once, I'm glad to have come to the fandom this late in the game.
I mean, yeah, there are people who are going to be happy that she died because they didn't like her, but, you know, I wasn't Cally's biggest fan, but the way she died was still all kinds of wrong, and it bugs me that people can't look past their personal feelings to get that Dee dying is wrong on a whole different level than how they felt about her/how much she got in the middle of their OTP. And the general praise of Ron Moore's 'art' that I'm seeing is just not helping. He took the easy way out with this, and there's nothing artful about that.
Does it count as being "glad she's dead" if I thought "well, at least she doesn't to put up with EVERY SINGLE FRAKKING PERSON'S SHIT ANYMORE?" No, not seriously. But it did flit briefly across my mind.
And those are mild, considering some of the stuff I've seen (people keep saying it's ok that the women are dying, 'cause they Do More and have More Impact.... )
Actually, their point is usually "the women have more storylines" neglecting to notice the fact that these women are only given something to do so they can be KILLED OFF once they've 'connected' with the audience.
If that. As I flash back to "Oh, hey, I just figured out that's Crowley (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0669826/) under that helmet. Oh, hey, she got lines. Deep Meeeeaningful Death in five, four... yup, there she goes."

I guess someone already did the brilliant Buffyesque (i.e. Hex), so there had to be an awful one?

I'm this close to just reading spoilers for it anyway, but part of me still wants to be surprised.

Don't read spoilers?

Catching spoilers is bad. I got spoiled for series 2 of Torchwood. :/

Since the episode aired, I've avoided that whole neck of the internet. It's better for me.
