current BSG fic/meta things annoying me.

1. Dee was not strong enough to accept Billy's deep and meaningful love. (really?) While I do think things with Billy were sort of a catalyst, I also think she does (and did) love Lee.

2. Kara turned down utter happiness to marry mediocre happiness.

3. Cylons are evil and should be destroyed in the fires of creation. I don't know when I started having Cylon love and understanding, but I think it started with the fact that there just aren't enough people for the human race to be viable if the Cylons aren't around. So, suck it, haters.

Huh. I think I had another one, but now I've forgotten it.

Did you think I was being insulting? If so, I apologize, for it definitely wasn't my intention. (And if I'm overreading, sorry for that too.) I really thought my response was on level with yours. You said you think Lee is boring and would drive Kara to tears. I think Sam is boring and would drive Kara to...well cheat on him with Lee I guess.

BUT that's all to the writers' fault. I like Sam a lot as you write him in your fics, but I think TPTB have really dropped the ball on making him interesting or showing him to have much personality in the show, with the exception of Downloaded and...Ties that Bind? Faith? (the one where he shot Gaeta) maybe.

Lee's a whiny bitch a lot of the time but at least now he's got his own Kara-unrelated Quorum thing. I'm hoping now that Sam's outted as a cylon, they'll develop that more and not so much in relation to Kara's reaction to him being a cylon (though I do want to see more on that too.)

I was being sarcastic, and showing you exactly what it's like when 80% of the fandom constantly tells you your ship will never happen because Kara can never be truly happy with Sam, because Lee is her ultimate goal (with babies, obvsly).

The fact you think Sam is boring is pretty damned insulting, though. Because I write him exactly as I see him in the show. The same is true for Kara, and I think they both constantly challenge each other.

In all honesty, I don't think ANYONE will ever truly make Kara happy. Not as fucked up and badly-written as a fantasy rape victim as she is. And I get just as annoyed by people saying "Lee can never make Kara truly happy". But since that's something only, maybe, four people say, it's not exactly fucking common.

But I don't think Lee is her goal though (and babies definitely aren't.) We shippers are just nutty that way and like to assign our own happy endings to her.

That being said, I'm sure it sucks to be on the other side of the fandom divide. (I don't often get invested enough in pairings to ship couples, but I've been known to have some unpopular opinions in my day. :)

I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings though. (You did say Lee was boring, but I don't really like him enough to get worked up about that. He irritates me quite often. Now if you said Kara was boring that would be sad times! :) Anyway, never my intention to annoy/irritate/insult you. I really enjoy your posts and I do somehow like Sam better in your fic than I do on the show. Maybe because there's just more of your fic than there is screentime for him. You give him much more to do and more spark and fire than the show ever does in my opinion. (And I mean that as a compliment.)

I'm very interested of course to see where they take Kara in 4.5. I don't know how she's ever going to find peace or closure or what have you without some sort of reset happening, but we shall see soon! Two more weeks!
