ficlet.
...cue conversation that's been going some time about apples and their relative merits, all while Barbossa fizzles in and out--
"This is a very interesting conversation," Gaius said, tone making it clear he didn't believe a word he was saying, "But I don't think I'm quite the person you're looking for."
"No," admitted Barbossa, almost amused. He faded neatly from sight a moment later, leaving a shiny red apple on his chair.
"As long as have that all clear." Looking around, Gaius spoke to the others who were half there, barely-seen moments of pictures in time. People who might once have breathed and lived, walking the Earth (or the earth), "None of you are real." He knew, of course, what was real and who wasn't.
"Not even you?" asked Calypso, laughter in her voice. She was substantial, weight settling in a chair causing it to creak slightly when she leaned forward.
"Oh, I'm real."
The assertion caused someone else to appear, her breath brushing Gaius' ear as she leaned against the back of his chair, "Careful, Gaius, she--"
"Am I not what I seem, lovely?" Elbow planted on the table, Calypso set her chin in her hand and smiled at Six.
