In my head, Jo got transfered to another SIB branch at another base while Roper got promoted. They kept in touch - KIND OF - and when Roper and Saskia finally, finally, FINALLY split completely, they met up and had a couple of really nice weekends in like Greece, but decided that distance, etc., etc. Then she got transfered into the home office and was assigned under Vicary (!!) while in a divergent branch of the SIB, Roper was being someone else's Senior Staff Sgt. and they were all "OMg, different chains of command, same city, let's try this!"

And they only JUST got married, and it was so that if they ever got stuck in the same chain of command again, they'd have legal license to fuck each other blind. And Jo likes his kids now that they're in their teens and moody bastards and she can mock everyone involved while refusing to discipline anyone.

Oh, and his daughter TOTALLY wants to be Jo when she grows up. Mostly because she can kick people really, REALLY hard. (There are T2 viewings aplenty when The Ween comes to visit.) The boy mostly pervs on Jo's tits and is kind of scared of her.
