Leverage 1.01: The Nigerian Job

I--that was possibly the most fun I've had watching TV in a while.

Ok, so these probably aren't really spoilers, as they're splashed everywhere, but.

1. Parker is Domino, but blonde. It's awesome. I love how much she's almost a kid and yet isn't.

2. All three of them--Parker and the two younger boys (I'm sorry, boys, I don't remember your names)--are like small children, but they're sort of good at what they do, which is lovely and adorable.

3. Sophie is awesome. AND a trooper for dropping down a zip-line in ten seconds.

4. I think I already ship the entire team. With each other. It's a Torchwood, orgy kinda love. Though I can see where they're trying for Sophie/Nate and a threesome with the others. I might just have to write Sophie/Parker.

5. You guys, that was fun. Action, humor, movement and decent acting all-round. It was slick. I want more of it.

6. Hutton is playing Nate sort of low-key, which is ok. He's not Archie, which is also ok. But he is pretty damned good at organizing everyone.

7. Argh. Now we have to wait until Tuesday for the next episode.

8. For the record, though, that 'we have leverage' tag-line needs to die.

I could not stop laughing. In a good, gleeful way. They're kinda awesome together, and it really is kinda Hustle but changed enough that it won't drive me bat-shit insane for copying.

Also, a resounding yes to the Torchwood-orgy thing.

Whoot! I think I'm glad I didn't watch Hustle, as it might ping me more then. (though I should, one of these days, it looks like cracky goodness)

The characters are not at all the same, more the sort of premise and...attitude? (And yes, Hustle is total cracky goodness with a fantastic team of characters.)

It was surprisingly funny! Like really much more humor than I expected. And none of the characters grated (although blondie might start to soon...we'll see. She's kind of faux-some, like faux-awesome because they're trying too hard to make her seem awesome.)
And Christian Kane? Still hot.

....I'm not even sure how to reply to that. Is there only one blonde trouble-maker allowed on tv? Or are you one of those people who hated mini-series Kara for being so "over the top"?

Not that Parker's much of a trouble-maker. She's just a kid who likes jumping off buildings.

I remember seeing this leak on the internets a couple of months ago and it was very much in the Robin Hood/Hustle/Ocean's Eleven line of things. I'm really looking forward to seeing the next episode of this.

I really dug this and I knew I was in love with this show (at least for now) when they were showing the flashback of the computer guy. Seriously the checking in as Mick Jagger, the lightsabers, and Princess Leias made me irrationally gleeful.

1. I can see that.

4. I sorta don't want them to do Sophie/Nate. I can't even put my finger on why.

6. No he's not Archie, but I wish he'd had Archie's hair. His hair really, really bugged me. I was amused that Nate drinks his liquor out of mini-bottles.

8. Yes, hopefully that was only for the pilot.

4. I'd love for them not to have some sort of "here is your ship, yay" crap, honestly. That stuff is rarely handled well.
