thank god for cranberry juice
So, I've been having issues (soreness, sensitivity of the area) with the upper molar I got the double root canal in. Went into dentist yesterday, he poked at the abscess, put me on antibiotics and made me come back today to drain it and root about for the cause.
Is mostly good now. Next week is... tooth decay removal on other teeth. sigh.
But, the thing is, I hate the taste of blood, and, well... Cutting for those squeamish about dental work...
The thing is, I bleed with dental work. Like, a lot. They've noticed this every time they've done work and it's taken longer for me to stop bleeding so they could, say, put my crown in.
So it wasn't really a surprise that, after he lanced the thing, that he gave me extra gauze to use if it continued seeping all over the place. And it sort of has, which means I've been tasting blood all day, and, fuck, I am NEVER French-kissing a vampire. Ever. Because that's just nasty, yo.
But there was cranberry juice at work, so I drank sips every so often, which helped.
He poked around in the area (under my gum), and couldn't find a cause, though the gum-pocket is extra long, and he's not sure why. He thinks it might have been random food, though it could be related to the root canal (dear god, I hope not). Part of that is because when they punctured through during the emergency one, stuff got sprayed everywhere (pus and blood, because that one was massively infected). As far as he can see, it's all mostly healed, though.
Except for my wacky gums.

I'm not that crazy about dental work, but I've had to go through so much that it's sort of become old hate to me. (I had perfect teeth till I was nearly 17, then had a nasty fall and I've several problems that sprang from that.)
And while I'm usually pretty "Eh. No big deal." about dental work, I have to say that I had an "Ew, gross" moment reading about it. I'm sure it must have been horrible to go through it.
Hope everything resolves itself quickly and with minimal dentist interference.

The embarrassing thing is that, as gross and annoying as it is, once I start taking anti-biotics, it's usually all good.
