I hate mornings

Note to plagiarists everywhere: getting a sock puppet to smear the name of the person you're plagiarising from is good times. And stupid.

Note to the mods at [livejournal.com profile] heroes_femslash: You've got a plagiarist on your hands, kiddies.

Note to the people leaving the idiot feedback: Please get out of fandom. 'Maquis' should have been your first clue that 'AU' Heroes fic was not, in fact, 'Heroes' fic at all.

Man. It's been a while since I got to use this tag.

Note to [livejournal.com profile] furqueen96 and [livejournal.com profile] claireandelle1: Try harder.

Okay-- so I've been hearing about this all week, but I'm no sure what's going on.

Illuminate?

From what I can tell, it goes like so:

Some idiot gets a new account called claireandelle1 about two weeks ago. She doesn't get any attention, and decides to be cranky and run a scam.

A week ago, furqueen96 is created.

Then the fun begins: find a target and rip of their fic. As far as I can tell, the only thing changed on the fic were names. Stuff like Star Trek mythos races/groups were left alone (hence, what were the Maquis doing in a Heroes fic again?)

Step 4. Post to the heroes femslash comm with one of the socks.

Step 5. Post to Stop_plagiarism, with etas and fake email replies, and 'claiming' your target has at least one puppet (don't forget to use the strikethrough tag to make it look like they've fled LJ in terror of your Truthiness).

Step 6. Post everywhere you possibly can with links back to the s_p post, including comms that neither person is in any way related to, and replying to people who gave your sock her feedback.

Step 7. Post as your sock, crying about being plagiarised.

Step 8. Delete the politely-worded comment of someone on one of the comms you spammed who pointed out that you shouldn't be posting this sort of shit. Which action causes her to get annoyed and go prod the mods into kicking your post.

Step 9. Have every mod on LJ bitchslap you for six.

Step 10. ?

Anyway, the idiot's target was [livejournal.com profile] spilleta42, who I don't personally know, but who I've seen out and about for years. It's a bit hard to think she's a plagiarist. Especially when the person accusing her is so transparently fraudulent.

Who is plagiarizing who? God, do people still even write fic for that fandom? I'm watching S3 mostly to see the show slowly going into a tailspin and fatality. Ubisoft canceled their plans to make their Heroes game - I think the series may be not long for this world.

[livejournal.com profile] claireandelle1 plagiarised [livejournal.com profile] spilleta42. Voyager fic became Heroes fic. Badly.

Is this anything to do with the crap I've seen about [livejournal.com profile] spiletta42? O_o

BTW, go read your fic.

Yup. It's just ridiculous.

I did. Now that you've depressed me, I demand fluff.

Gah. Sorry. Didn't realize. And, yes. They might want the evidence.

Man, that crap splattered far and wide. Ugh.

So it has. Here's hoping LJ and other place get off their ass and deal with things.
