...

who gave the NCIS writers the crack, and can we take it away from them?

No, not at all. There's nothing sadder than good telly writers pawing pathetically at your windows, sniffing piteously at you when they could be writing some more awesome lines for Ducky...

But the episode was complete crap. Sigh. :/

Hmm. I missed it, as Dad wanted to watch House. (And I rarely catch things on their first showing anyway) I think Michael DVR'd it, though.

yay! I mean. It's kinda amusing, but.

Oh yeah, they were definitely on crack for that ep. I so loved the mad dash by Tony & Ziva to go give the news on Gibbs to Tony & Abby.

Plus, the grin on Gibbs' face as he went tearing by in the hot rod. :)

It had a few good moments and I saw what the writers were trying to do, but it mostly didn't work. And I don't particularly have a greater appreciation for Gibbs's character now, so overall, the episode failed.

I didn't care what they were trying to do, I just want to know which teeniebopper on ff'net they ripped off.

Yeah, there was something very Mary Sue-ish about that entire episode.
