I don't pay much attention to the news, but some of it does occasionally filter through my "I fucking hate the news" filter. And one thing's been bothering me.... (hell, I'm pretty sure it was even mentioned on Letterman/Couric/something)

I know it's been twenty-four fucking years, but could you please remember that Sarah Palin is not the first woman to run as a Vice Presidential candidate? She is not some hole in the glass ceiling.

TWENTY FOUR YEARS. And only chosen because she had a cunt.

And people wonder why we keep repeating history.

I suspect that might be a BIT of an exaggeration, ultra-conservative Republicans aside. But this choice did rally the more conservative, less-informed voting population, with reactions (per some rallies I've read about) of "She thinks just like we good Americans do!" and "Man, did you hear how Obama said she's a pig in lipstick? Ain't that SEXIST?" followed by "Damn, she's f*ckin' hot, I'd totally tap that."

All with no apparent realization of the complete hypocrisy of those statements. *eyeroll*
