It was weird. I spent money with vague intent, this year. Got trades for half off (or more, I think). Some of it is stuff my roommate has in issue form (Black Widow, Ex-Machina), some was just weird (this thing called Waterloo Sunset), and one was because it made me giggle madly (Aliens: Female War by... Mark Verheiden). I also randomly called my brother out of the blue on Saturday, to discover if he'd ever bought AoA for himself. Since, hey, half-off cover price? I'm there. Now I've got his last two birthday presents. (I'll have to track down #3)

My brother also has a myspace page, and thinks I would get one. He's... got no clue what Livejournal is.

(Female War is the stupidest title ever, btw, but I'm enjoying Ripley carrying a gun as big as she is)

Got a 'Hell Kitty' t-shirt. It is pink. I like pink.

Discovered that the Doubletree is a superior hotel to the Hyatt. You guys. THEY GIVE YOU FRESH COOKIES when you check in. Really really AWESOME cookies. Also, I had a cheaper rate, since I'd not noticed the number of people in the room when I bought the booking, and they didn't charge me the difference. Awesome. There's also a pool AND hot tub. Why, yes, I did get some relaxation in this morning. siiigh.

We didn't actually spend much time on the con floor (not that I minded. My feet are not happy in places like that), but I did notice that the booths were a bit better spread out this year.

Friday was Target (by the All-state Arena and the hotel where Katee con was last year) and IHOP. omg. BEST IHOP EXPERIENCE EVER. Our waitress was so fabulous. And then we played Apples to Apples until 5:30.

Saturday was con, aj and M (and later fishdoctorpost for dinner at Gibson's), Denny's, trades, walking...

Sunday was hot tub, re-check con, Panda Express and hoooome.

Twas indeed wonderful! And easily 80% of that wonderful was the socialization. Between the Gang (lyssie,nique,arrshley,and aj, fishdoctorpost (who I hope becomes another part of what I personally consider The Group, as she seems so wonderful), and Mo (not sure if she has a LJ, a most wonderful conversationalist, and a woman who kept me paying attention to her the entire time I was with her!), it was greatness indeed. If shorter than I would have liked.

Ahh, for next year.
