John/Elizabeth (Shep and Weir from SGA). After the group of us who'd originally gone "amalgamated pairing names are bad, let's call it something stupid, like Sparky, so that the ship name is inoffensive" and had then realized that there were people calling themselves 'sparklers' (wtf), and that we should'a just named it Jizabeth and scared everyone off.
Starbuck/Anders from BSG. I don't care if it was a joke. Do not threaten to amalgamate my kids.
I'm guessing that's Billy (I could never spell his last name) and Barolay? That is sort of cute. Standers on the other hand is beginning to piss me off.
Keikolay is ... sort of cute. The OTHER name, not so much. gah. After being PUNISHED with the damn smooshes in Pirates (every single possible pairing has its own smoosh, it's AWFUL), I... resist. Strenuously.
For a moment I thought it was shipping Sam with himself (you know in that cylon way Six showed us) but then I got it. Still using his name as shipname makes it bit one-sided, doesn't it?
Keikolay, however, sounds interesting. Would be a great name for a fantasy character. Now I know from where some authors draw inspiration.
Not that I really care but mushing names is kind of infantile thing to do. However, there are way to many infantile people. All you can hope for it's just another fad and it'll go away eventually.

Standers is a real name. Mushed pairing names that that form real words and names are worse than the normal ones, because they just confuse us more.

I LOATHE, DESPISE, HATE AND UTTERLY WANT KILLED THE PERSON WHO STARTED amalagamated pairing names.
Er. Sorry. Might be capslocky on this subject for a while.

It's no worse than Starpollo! And hey, another Kara/Sam comm. :D
I think the person who started it is a non-native speaker, FWIW.

Bingo. And, technically, I should do Jean/Billy or Barolay/Keikeya, so... Jelly or Barokeya.

...let me show you it. Sigh.
At some point, I may rant more. Right now, I should be in bed.

It's been eight years since then.
They haven't.
