1. There are... livejournal elections for some advisory position thingie? Do not care.

2. There is a movie based on the 2000 US presidential race. This boggles my mind. Why did we need this? And people wonder why I think Americans are fucking stupid.

3. Skiffy shot itself in the foot and the UK is now ahead of America for BSG. Awesome.

4. Ron needs to kill some men. Because, right now? BSG is telling me that if you're a woman, you speak, and you're not MM? You will die. Good job on keepin' the ebil wimmenz down there, Ron. If you're a man, the worst that can happen is getting injured, but you'll recover and get a storyline, yay!

The election of 2000 = Electile Dysfunction. And the movie was produced by a Buffy Alum, so I've been hearing a lot about it too.

Can you imagine the Natalie and Gaeta storylines reversed? Gaeta dies and Natalie loses a leg? Because that wouldn't happen.

Re: point 4, this is why I gave up on BSG in the end. Every time I tried an episode, something terrible happened to a woman. Every single one. I'm not sure to this day if it's just random chance, or if something nasty happens to a woman in most every episode, but it's very off-putting.

I can't say for certain that every episode contains it. But I can say that, for the first two seasons, it was a bit more balanced with both genders getting nailed. Now? Not so much.
