Because I am an American--

GODDAMN I sometimes actually forget how awesome Farscape is. How complex the characters are, how much the women on this show rock and break and kick and destroy every fucking cliche out there.

Also. I take back a lot of the mean things I used to say about Sikozu. I really do love her.

I think... I think it may be time for an adjustment of my icons.

Aeryn, yes.

But I'm continually shocked at noticing things, like Chiana being the only reason John survives the game in John Quixote, or that Noranti, Sikozu and Jool all have their strengths and--

Grayza. I ache for her by the end, and I loathed her at the beginning. And despite the wackiness of PKW, I still feel she was awesome.

Also. At this point in time, there are...

John, D, Scorpy and Rygel.
Aeryn, Chi, Noranti and Sikozu.

Equality of the sexes, in a way No. Other. Show. NONE. has done before or since. HALF THE REGULAR CAST. FEMALE.

AND AKHNA. Tiny, awesome, and EVIL EVIL FROM THE DAWN of TIME.

(sorry, I'm in the middle of La Bomba).

I am currently noticing how almost all female characters on BSG are heavily used in Helpless Victim roles (esp. Cally), while male characters are much less likely to be helphlessly victimized. Still, as a result of reading far too much fic, I was expecting Something Truly Awful to happen when the Pegasoids were about to attack Helo and Tyrol with very large and rectangular bars of soap.

Stop it! I am so hopelessly behind in my good TV catch up! Firefly, Farscape, Buffy, Angel, even the first few eps of Heroes! Why can't work go away so I can just watch TV and write fanfic and play in fandom all day?

Is there a way we could work out some sort of trade deal so I could borrow seasons 2-4 plus PKW from you? I am an excellent housekeeper and I have a husband who bakes by request. :)

Sure! How big a chunk do you want, all at once? ;]

Squee!!!! Ummm, how about 2 and 3 to start, that way I can switch back and forth between B5 and Farscape. *g* I am so excited! *dances* So what am I trading to you? If all else fails I could buy you lunch!

Our heads are so jammed up with speculative, fantastic, narratively fictional cinema (er, skiffy telly) that it's instantly refreshing when conventions used in any of the three genres I mentioned get broken. Or, to put it another way:

I thought I had Sikozu's number but Farscape surprised me and that was cool.

Props to RTD on this as well. I usually clock at least one course change per DW episode from where I've been trained things are likely to go.

I need to watch Farscape period. It's been very highly recommended, but I've no money to buy DVDs these days. What, with my status of unemployment and college looming on the horizon. One of these days, I'll nab me the DVDs and soldier through them.
