Also, in talking with lizardbeth_j, it was determined that if Loki kidnapped Kara Thrace and Sam Anders (to study human mating rituals), he would also clone them, and as they are Both Special, they would end up as teens. The universe might quaver in horror from that, man.

Finally, I know others have said this, but a one-day boycott isn't going to be noticeable. Bite the bullet. Go a week without RP, LJ or commenting on your flist. Then come and tell me you're dedicated to the cause.

I wish I knew what Ron said on the UB podcast that's got you so upset. I listened to it - I listen to all of them religiously - and I honestly can't think of one thing. If anything, he made Kara more sympathetic. And canon hasn't changed, and if anything the additions are favorable to Kara/Sam, I think. And if you don't agree, well, a lot of people don't consider deleted scenes canon anyway!

Er, generally, anytime I hear Ron, he pisses me off with his "no one else has done this innovative thing before, EVAH" attitude. I have a whole stack of Farscape, Babylon Five, Next Generation. Deep Space Nine and Red Dwarf dvds that would like to differ. And that's just from shows in the last fifteen years (and probably discounting more than a few). Blake's 7 would also like a word.

You do realize that Ron's canon is that Kara slept around on Sam while married on New Caprica, right?

Now, as to the deleted scenes, I actually am in deep love with most of them (if Lee is involved, probably not). Because Kara and Sam's marriage falling apart without Lee Adama involved in any way? IS HOW I SEE CANON. And it pisses me the fuck off that we have this stuff, that could have been so much more interesting, and instead we got a cheap, soap opera knockoff love triangle.

Well, look, I'm sorry. I thought you'd be interested in the parts about how Sam knows Kara and how Ron says he loves her as much as she loves him, which to me implies that she loves him, you know, a lot. Didn't mean to start anything...

I'm not crazy about the choice they made with Kara's childhood either, but to me it's a big part of her characterization. And I like it better than "she acts this way 'cause she just sucks"

Okay, I can get the K/L shippers and Ron Moore... but canon? Eh. If Ron Moore actually succeeded in portraying what he said he was trying to show, sure. But since he didn't, I would say write what you want, there's certainly no reason to make excuses or post disclaimers.

Also, even I think RDM is infuriating. And I never get bothered by anyone. (Okay, that's a wild overstatement, but still...)
