comics! Bits and pieces.

1. Doctor Who. MARTHA JONES IS MORE AWESOME THAN GOD.
2. Painkiller Jane vs. Terminator. YES PLS.
3. Cable. BAD ART, RUN AWAY.
4. Buffy. Flipped through it. Looks crap. Dropped book.

1. While I'm enjoying the awesome of Martha (not to mention the non-Earth settings we sometimes get), Ten needs to dial the WACKY AND ZANY OMG down a notch or two.

2. Seriously, I'm loving this one. It's all about how women can kill you with their brains. Plus, with the adorable Jane/Mo and Vanessa/Mike stuff. Also. VERY LITTLE WHINY ASSBOY.

3. I, um, no. Hi, Nate. Didn't think you were dead.

4. I've been wavering on dropping this book since the Faith arc ended, and after the Willow/Kennedy bad Cliche Angst of Doom from the one issue, and the last issue with the eye-rollingness, I... Wasn't interested. Sorry.

I'm sorry, I have no BSG comic mockery, this time out.

I don't actually like large portions of series three, either. I love Martha, but the standard "She's a companion, thus, IN LOVE with the Doctor" setting was really annoying and insulting.

But so far, the comic has not shoved Rose in my face, or made it seem like Martha is less awesome because she is not Rose. Nor has it made it seem like Martha is in love with him. Thus, palatable.

Also. Martha keeps kicking things and being smart.

1 is hilariously true if you've seen LOTTL...

I've never been interested enough to. I do, however, know most of what occurs, and she is, indeed.

The Faith arc was good. I recommend flipping through the rest in a store before purchase, though.

I read (and adored) the Greg Pak cracktasticness that was the 12-issue run. For one thing, I could count on Greg NOT to go "Boomer and Starbuck are girls...I KNOW! I'll get them pregnant/locked up/kidnapped by freaks/in love with two men! 'Cause they're GIRLS, and that's the plots girls get!" (YES I HAVE ISSUES) (of course, the funniest thing is that I'm currently writing lengthy meta on Kara/Sam and season three, so I have no leg to stand on, whatsoever)

It's complete and utter crack. I'm not sure 'good' is the word for it. Amusing and full of silliness, yes. As with Buffy, I recommend picking it up and flipping through it before purchase.

Apparently, I think in fractals, because I didn't find it incoherent (plus, he kept something like four plot-threads going, which is more than can be said for canon, which can't even keep one going without having to use a reset button).

heheh. I just went, "Aw. Greg loves Sharon! Yay!" Since, y'know, Ron pretty much ignores her unless she's there to do laundry or have a baby.

er.... Stargate, I guess? Neither is really required for the other, honestly. They're both kinda light, fluffy, and easily dissectable.

IDW DW: Art: horrible. Story: mediocre. Martha is iffy. I didn't like her then, and it wasn't because of RoseAngst.

Buffy: it's okay. I like the art more than the story to be honest.

PKJ/Terminator: I guess I need to get all the other issues to appreciate it more, but yes, it is hot.
