That happened on New Caprica a lot, especially when she forgot it was her turn, and Sam had to lug it down to the river, muttering about wives who prefer machines to clean clothing...
Then he'd hang it out to dry and lug it all home, only to have it get dirty again when Kara tackled him onto the bed and sent clothes flying everywhere. (Not that he minded at that point.)
Even though the BSG costume people chose practical cotton for Kara (as seen in Scar) in my own personal cannon she doesn't bother with underwear. It would be just one more layer to remove, so why bother? ;)
Ahahah! Yes. I would go with that, but I sometimes wonder if maybe Kara would at least be kinda practical, when flying. Because there would be chafing if she's sitting there for, y'know, x number of hours.
Now. Onboard ship, where she's just wandering around and taking peoples' money at cards? Totally commando. ;)
Err! what's ticky? The 1st 2 are boxers. Kara has hygiene issues, so why would she wear any underwear. Just get in the way or slow down the action. *cough with Anders only cough*.

(Though if I think really, really hard or ask the right people, I might remember whether or not the books ever said in Harry's case.)

Don't we see Harry in bed twice? In the first ep and the Justin ep? Perhaps the scees should be, uhm..."examined."
