sff: Wow, Skiffy, you might have done good...
Tin Man = shiny. Also, Leoben is hot in leather.
I've realized something: Torchwood hits that same niche that Farscape did for me. Suddenly, much is explained. (including the lack of fic from me)
But back to Tin Man. I'm enjoying it immensely.
And now for random Aeon Flux commentary, since, while I liked Tin Man, Aeon is HOT. DG is cute, but. Not hot.
It definitely helped that there was Aeon Flux as a chaser this afternoon. A movie full of awesome women being awesome--and the production staff was full of women, too. MWHA. I spent a lot the movie just watching, and a ton of the secondary characters are women as opposed to men. You've got your main women--Aeon, Sithandra, Una, Inari, the Handler, Freya--and then a couple more, mostly random. Then on the male side, you have, um. Trevor, Oren. Oren's henchman guy? Most of the rest are cannon-fodder. Or, and Una's boy.
Sidenote: Is there any Aeon/Sithandra femslash? Because there really should be some.
Watched some of the special features on the disk, and my estimation of Charlize Theron has gone up. Girl trained for three months to get into shape as Aeon, and they said she did more than 95% of the stunts. Now, Aeon wasn't just shooting guns. She was bouncing, throwing herself all over the place--a lot of wire work, but it was still all physically taxing. And she did it, and she seems to have loved it.
Also, Freya is Ianto's girlfriend Lisa. Though she's more awesome in Aeon Flux.
Of course, the funniest part was the two (male) writers going on about how the movie was basically just a love story, and that's what they were happiest about writing. *snicker* Boys like romance too, apparently.
Meanwhile, if they ever do a sequel, it'll have to be all about making babies.

That said, the steampunky imagery was GREAT. And I would have been tremendously amused if they'd gotten Emily Deschanel, Zooey's sister, to play the sorceress. *evil grin*
