*amused*

*chokes, falls over, spams tiny piece of fic*

"Hey, Sam. Ditch the kid and we can do things married couples do."
"Oh?"
"Like my laundry."

I think it's a line from one of the unfinished Kacey fics. Or set of lines. I don't remember, I just went through half the unfinished BSG fics I have, trying to find a specific one I need to finish.

I've got one of those sitting around, too. Mostly because I wanted to do the "Kara isn't happy" route, and get rid of the baby. I also kinda want to actually see Anders interact with a kid (Kacey doesn't count, there wasn't any interaction), because my instinct says he likes kids, but for all we know, he doesn't. Sigh.

Given that we still have no idea how Leoben managed to grab Kara, the question becomes fraught with a hundred possibilities. Sigh.

Hah. And I'm on the opposite side: I'm totally of the opinion that if Kara didn't want the baby, she'd have it aborted. On top of that, I'm also making the assumption that combat stress in a viper is almost as good as the morning-after pill.

(we will not discuss Ron and his Scary Views--though I still wonder if some of that can be blamed on Eick, given the BW crap)

Kara would NOT be a fainting, wilting, "OMG poor me!" momma. I'd imagine she'd be like Cally--standing up at the front of a crowd and shouting at people (damn, that makes me depressed about season three again), and generally being Scary.

There are g-forces. Adama cites it for why Kara can't fly the mission in Hand of God--because her knee is still too frakked-up to handle the gravity she'll be facing (he keeps piling weights down). There are no inertial dampeners in vipers, I'd imagine (even if those are totally Star Trek concepts that everyone else has stolen).

*kicks season three* Cally would have been an awesome feral mommy, but then they gutted her for conventional episodes. Sharon is also in that category (dude, she let Helo kill her to get her baby back, that totally counts).

Unfortunately, BSG kind of sucks at letting the female characters remain strong. They get to a point and then fall very very flat.

Sarah Connor should count, too.

I forgot Sarah until I was about to hit the post button. And then blinked.

I haven't, but they're pushing it a lot. If I can get over my dislike of River, I might actually watch it. And it's hopefully not going to tell me single women Need a Man every episode, unlike BW.

Y'know, Painkiller Jane might've been a comicbook on my tv, but at least the women were fully-formed and didn't need a flonqing thing but themselves.

*stops*

Sorry, I've gotten cranky, trying to think about BSG and the promise it had.

Also, I'm disturbed at my instinctive need to defend BW, when the show actually sucks like a sucking thing (although I do need to make a post about why I think MR isn't really as bad as everyone claims).

If it helps, Katee says there might actually be women talking to each other in season four. I'm not holding my breath, but I can hope?

Bechdel?

I'm already wanky--in my head, at least.

Luckily, I've been distracted.

LOL!

We wouldn't happen to be getting a Kara, Sam, and Kacey do the (more than slightly) dysfunctional family thing, would we? I'm kind of really excited about the possibilities. :D

Nah. Any of the ones that have that vibe all need a huge amount of work. I might one day be bored and do it, but. *shrug* Not right now.

Awh, now that I understand :D. Can I be nosy and ask what the line is from then?

I think it's from season three spec stuff. There wasn't much plot to it.

No worries, plot is overrated anyways, lol. :)

Well, there was a lack of plot, and I was also writing the same story. A lot.

*laughs* You know, I seem to recall being inspired by the fact that most married couples spend their time doing laundry and chores, more than having sex. Supposedly. *g*

Hehe, true. Great source of inspiration right there! =P
