I can see my house from here...
So, I was bored today, at work, and I poked around, and then hit googlemaps (as you will, when you're bored, and someone claims Arsenal and Hampton are the same street in St. Louis, and your brain goes 'wtf? Arsenal CROSSES HAMPTON...'). And plugged in our address and did the satellite view, and--
GUYS.
GUYS.
This is obviously from a couple years ago (the house on the corner is still there, and they haven't started the condos by the Jewel).
But. OMG.

GUYS, GUYS, MY CAR IS VISIBLE FROM SPACE.
Oh, how I wished to get on and share this all with you, earlier. Sigh. STUPID RULES.

Your car is either really HUGE or your max resolution is higher than mine. *pout*

My car is a weetiny Saturn SL. We were just debating whether a big stick would fit in it (this necessitated a trip downstairs into the COLD with said stick to figure out the answer to the question. Skience says YES).

As for satellite imagery.... I think I can see my building here, but no real detail. I haven't looked recently and the images are out of date as that the landlord went ahead & had a new roof put on this year, finally. :-p (This is after 3.5 years of me telling him, "Oh, gee, yeah, I've got serious water stains in the utility closet ceiling, bathroom ceiling..." Mind you, I'm the top floor apartment, so of course, I'm gonna see the leaking roof! He'd had people trying to patch the roof to no avail. When the front door lock broke this spring and he was over fixing that, I pointed out the new stains in the living room ceiling and he was like, "Oh, that's not good..." About 3 weeks later, I had roofers putting a new layer of shingles on and I haven't had any water leaks since! *happy dance*)
Oh, did you see the latest on the HI in Collinsville? State officially owns it now & is going to spend $$ to rehab the hotel since no one was willing to pay $25 mil for it when it was appraised at like $8 mil. The Post article is pasted on the Archon_Illinois com.

Yeah, I'd heard something about the Holiday Inn thing.
