oh. Oh. Guys. There's a Buffy/BSG crossover, where Lee falls in love with Buffy, and Buffy talks in a monotone and it's so so so very bad. And Kara is pregnant with Sam's baby, and would "never forget the father of her child".

Oh, help.

Also, it has one warning "Kara is pregnant".

eta: And now Tom Zarek has fallen for Buffy and is groping her in front of Lee, while Kara and Sam... Actually, I'm not sure what Kara and Sam are doing (I wonder how pregnant she is?)

Well, yeah, but don't forget she was nice to Kacey. That magically cancels out all the other canon in which Kara makes it clear that having a baby is not her idea of a good time. Because if you're in a hostage situation and try to protect the one other person in it who's even more helpless than you are, that just PROVES you're brimming over with frustrated maternal instinct and you want to have baybeez of your very own right now.

If Moore & Co. have the guts, Kara getting an illegal and probably dangerous abortion would seem like a logical follow-up to Roslin's decree in 2.17. She's been incredibly explicit in canon about not wanting to have a baby (much more so than your average "kickass" heroine for whom the subject of motherhood just doesn't come up, so you have no idea if they would turn out to be maternal or not). But I doubt Moore would go there.

Anyway, I didn't think the Kacey arc turned Kara into a fluffy bunny mama type either, but I've tangled with people on the internet who tout that arc as proof of Kara's deep desire to get knocked up. Because some people are weird and strange. Also, the whole POINT of Kara is that she's a high-functioning deeply fucked-up headcase. Why neuter her power as a character by taking away all that makes her interesting and unique? I mean, t here are other characters on the show who are canonically broody. Go write cute babyfic about them.

Kara as a mother is she has been able to deal with all the issues in SOUL - is kinda scary. Even if she has dealt with all of them and is at peace. Kara as a baby moomma is just too damn scary. Also doing this to Buffy is cruel. Poor girl had been twice dead, a destroyer of gods, and first evils and making every other woman on the planet potential slayers. Woman has her work cut out for. Shouldn't have to deal with Lee. Tigh perhaps someone for her to beat on. (I am such a genre geekess!)
