How logical is it to TAKE POINTS OFF because I turned in the complete program, AS DEMANDED in the specs? Oh. Because the class is still at an earlier level.

I get points off for being perfect, and having it FINISHED.

So, if I'd turned it in with the test (original plan, since I had jury duty) I would have had points off. Because it's not what everyone else turned in.

Bullshit.

I did it exactly as the specs requested, down to the stupid fucking dollar signs on the detail line.

Trust me. It could be worse. In my electric circuits class, he took points off all our papers because we did not label the axes of our graphs, even though he never did in class in examples. Everyone else complained, I did not. "I made a mistake, I will pay the price for it." Maybe this is the price you pay for perfection
