bwah, flashback!

I think it was in concert that Neil said, kind of abashed, that they knew that "I Don't know what you want..." doesn't make sense but it fit the line so they kept it. Still my favorite song off Nightlife.

And in the It's a Sin t.v. thing, does Neil look a bit like S.10/SGA RDA - O'Neill or is it just me? Not close up, obviously, but in the medium shots. it's the hair I guess.

Since Blue Monday just came up on shuffle, I'll point out that Electronic was really Johnny Marr and Bernard Sumner from New Order, and Neil was on a few tracks (although admittedly this one and Getting away with it are the only ones most people have heard). But thanks for reminding me about Disappointed -- I'd forgotten how much I like it, in its rather awesomely perfect blend of PSB, New Order and Johnny Marr guitar. I think the CD is in the garage, I should dig it out.

hAhahahah. God, I love them. Their interviews are also a scream.

He does, a little, but then, one must remember he's approaching Jack's age...

I knew that, I just totally forgot it when I wrote up my listings. *considers* I think Raise the Pressure may need to be on my playlist now. hrm.

they are funny. I have vague memories of an interview back in the early 90's where Neil was talking about how they'd just come back from the Montreux music festival. And their plane was stuffed full of other New Wave/Britpop groups (I don't recall who exactly anymore, but on the order of New Order, Echo and the Bunnymen, and the Cure). So he snarks about how it was a good thing the plane didn't crash, because it would've set Brit music back a decade. he was being funny, but at the time, I thought -- y'know, he has a point.

Speaking of, do you have New Order's "Get ready"? I had it on vinyl but that's long gone and I was interested in hearing it again.

*dies laughing* He did have a point, though. The Brits like New Order, the Cure, Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys are still producing good shit... And have done for something like twenty years.

I do. I bought it, and it was all shiny, and made me gleeful and happy and would you like it uploaded?

"Being Boring" will be one of my favorite songs foreverandever.

Have you seen them play?

It's quite lovely.

Sadly, no. They're one of the few bands I would actually pay money to see, too.

I've seen them twice now, once for their NIGHTLIFE tour (the first time they'd toured the US in something like 8 years) and earlier this year for the INTERGRAL tour.

I preferred the former, but the latter was nothing to scoff at.

*sigh*

My boys...
