Bionic Woman 2007...
So, um. ahem. Have watched the pilot. And I'm disturbed and amused at how like and yet unlike the characters I wrote a few months back are from their real life counterparts. Or canon counterparts. (see fic here: BW femslash)
To be not-spoilery: the dialog needs someone to finesse it, although there were bits that were good, much of it was clunky and delivered really crappily. Even from Katee (hey, Katee? You don't have to sound flat to have character, honey).
To be spoilery, it suffers from having to exposit a ton of information in dialog.
Not to mention setting up a Shadow Conspiracy that reminds me of the reason I stopped watching X-Files. Your conspiracy crap is boring as fuck, SF shows. Please get a god-damned clue and move on. Chris Carter was NOT RIGHT.
Mark Sheppard is also NOT old enough to be boringangstyloverboy's daddy, either. Although Mark at least can act. I'm hoping he'll save the SC shit.
Jamie Sommers is a bit high-pitched and whiny, annoyingly. I'll get over it, I expect. She kind of has a right to be pissed/etc. And the scenes between her and the other short-haired blonde chick were quite quite awesome. (not talking Sarah, here)
I like the other blonde chick, I love that she swiped the sketch and showed Wolf-Metaphor-Man. I liked the babysitter.
I liked Sarah, except for her incredibly pathetic and clunky speech telling us about her Motivational Angst. I did enjoy her breaking Jamie's shoulder just to make that side bionic, too, however.
I dislike teenangstgothpunkemotionally-trappedleftbehinddeafdeadmothered little sister. They should have picked one cliche, not ten.
The women, however, pwned every man in the episode, so that was ten kinds of awesome.
Jamie's speech to bald-man was AWESOME.
Finally. Chief, Jammer and Romo. Did I miss any BSG-family reunion alumni?
Sadly, the girl power doesn't outweigh either the cheese or the boringness of her UnFabulous Home Life.
Thus. Bones wins out. Because at least there, I know there will be crunchy bodies and cute dialog and Brennan and Angela and Cam.

Boys are, I find, annoying. Especially when there are babies involved. Sigh. The other thing: I felt like the writers had a checklist: 1. sad sister. 2. sappy boyfriend. 3. BABY! 4. Lose baby! 6. Cry in the shower! (a scene I totally called) 6. Maybe get raped, but save own ass!
...because, really, some of that was very by the numbers.
WMD is... I'm getting a bad Leoben-like vibe off of him (Oh, Eick, you really are a one-trick pony).
I saw that in TV Guide and cackled. I... maybe it might be interesting? (I always hated John, except in the third movie, but only because Claire Danes kept pwning his ass).

Which reminds me that Morgan from Dresden Files was in the episode, and now I'm picturing Morgan vs. Jamie Sommers and... damn. That would be kind of awesome. Sigh.

It could be. And they could split the eps. Sarah and WMD going for the redemptionista bit while Youkas and Jamie fight crime and save children and stuff.
