Apparently, mightygodking has gotten his LJ deleted/suspended for posting HP spoilers. *listens to the dead silence from fandom* Huh. Maybe if he'd written incest porn, you'd be up in arms?

ETA Apparently, there's been some clarification and this was the third offence, or something, and didn't actually have to do with HP spoilers. Huh. You learn somethin' new every day.

(also, wow, do I like the word 'apparently'. I should also totally and utterly be in bed).

I'm still digesting Painkiller Jane issue 2. Mostly, I think it's just hot.

Still hate my job. There are some very stupid people entering invoices there. I'd like to introduce them to my boots, and possibly a machete.

There are Farscape Webisodes coming, a purported Reboot series of movies, and Ben Browder is collaborating with Andrew Prowse for Skiffy. Huh. Maybe next year might be good for SF?

I'm not sure. I'm not even sure where people were supposed to go when Strikethrough '07 was going on. But there were certainly massive amounts of posts all over, on all sorts of communities about it.

I heard about that here (http://indigoskynet.livejournal.com/4061179.html), and there is at least one other theory about why he was suspended. I, however, really have no idea, so I'm just gonna stay out of it. I'll be over there if you need me. *gestures way off to the side* ^_^

However, I do chat with him from time to time, and he says that the ban actually came down over Improved Archie; the fact that he complied with all previous DCMA notices is besides the point because he received a third DCMA notice (this time for the rest of I_A's content) and thus SixApart is forced to consider him a "serial copyright violator" and deny him service under the DCMA.

He also says that he's currently working on setting up a fancy-dancy brand new blog elsewhere (with Canadian hosting, rather than American, so that future challenges of his fair dealing rights can be dealt with on his home soil) and when the time comes, there'll be an RSS feed which you can read him through LJ still.

I'm not sure what the deal was officially - just heard about it in chat tonight.

Was he the only one suspended, when there were spoilers going up all over the place? Something about this is just fishy to me.....

But hey, it's SixApart - if it makes sense, then they're not doing it and apparently, they are talking to some pretty stupid lawyers, when a non-lawyer friend (who works for M$ legal investigation arm in SF), knows how wrong they are in their legal quotings! :-p

I'm just going to look, get the "facts" as they are presented before saying anything.

Yeah - I've stuck to just the SG coms & folks I have f-listed and managed to avoid all the "real" spoilers.

Now, I have a friend who's been tracking all the "alternative" ones and his best tonight was: "And in the last chapter, Harry goes into the bathroom where the water's running and finds Sirius taking a shower. It was ALL A DREAM."

I had another friend choking with laughter over it. :)

I gotta say - the humorous, alternative ones have been pretty good - I had another friend come up w/ a whole MI5 crossover idea....

Oh yes - eps 8-10 were just brilliant!

I was in tears over Human Nature/Family of Blood and Blink was just creepy, but brilliantly done with the POV being not the Doctor's or Martha's. :)

What annoyed me when I read about MightyGodKing in Scans Daily were the people that said, "Well he posted spoilers. I have no tolerance for that." Okay. Because clearly labled, properly cut spoilers is a completely reasonably bannable offense.

Granted the 'official' reason is that it was because of the Archie comm. But it is a tad suspicious that it still came shortly after the HP stuff was posted.

But anyway, Farscape Webisodes? Tell me more!

I don't get the furor that DOES exist. I think it's really sucky that he got suspended for Improved Archie, which I guess was clearly parody, but a screencap of a post he did that someone linked to on Scans_Daily showed that he was contacted by Scholastic and told to take down his Harry Potter stuff, IIRC. They're the copyright holder. He isn't. Tough shit, buddy. If it was over Improved Archie, well...that would be bad.

But given that guy was a complete and utter prick to me and many on my flist on numerous occasions on scans_daily over the last three years (see cats_n_crying, amongst others, and Cats is probably one of the sweetest guys on LJ), on a personal level I think he can be an arrogant, insufferable blowhard who has an unfortunate tendency to attack people whose opinions he disagrees with about comics.
