ficlet: SG-1, Jack, Daniel, PG

ilanabean42 dared me to write Jack/Daniel. Unfortunately, my brain can't really wrap itself around that. So. Instead, there is this. Contains spoilers for SG-1 season 10 and Atlantis season 3.
"This is new."
To Daniel, the voice and the sarcasm go hand in hand. A sigh almost escapes him, but he's been getting better at NOT being one to sigh. "Jack."
"Daniel."
Impatient tugging at their bound wrists results in absolutely no give. Daniel suffers for a moment in silence, before he snaps, "You're making it tighter."
"Nah, I think there's some give now."
"No there isn't."
Jack huffs out a breath. "Fine. There isn't."
Not that he relaxes. For Jack O'Neill to relax while tied back to back and hand to hand with Daniel Jackson would be like the Goa'uld and the Ori both declaring a day of peace. Although the possibility of being able to plunder all of the people who'd lain down their arms in such a noble cause might tempt them.
Daniel figures Jack's to blame for his lack of trust, and boundless cynicism. "This is your fault, you know."
"How is this my fault?"
"You insisted on coming through the gate--and given your last spectacular journey off-world included Replicators, you should have known this was a bad idea."
Jack shifts, shoulder raising in a shrug, "I was bored."
"Take up a hobby." Daniel suggests, his tone still sarcastic.
"I did take up a hobby. I got bored with it."
"Go fishing more."
"Mitchell and Landry keep stealing my cabin."
"Once, Jack. They used it once--and the rest of us were there, too."
"And an alien," Jack says, and he could be pouting for the childish whine in his voice.
"Several, even," Daniel confirms.
"Yeah, see? You all had fun. Without me."
"Yes. Fighting for my life was fun, Jack." Well, actually... Daniel has to admit that, these days, living with the thrill of death is sort of entertaining. It isn't like he really thinks he'll die anymore. And if he does, some stupid Ancient will probably forcibly ascend him, just so they can bitch some more at him.
"Anyway. Carter will save us."
Admiring the confidence, Daniel hates to burst his bubble, but there it goes, "Sam doesn't know where we are, Jack."
"You're chipped, Daniel."
Well, that's true. "She doesn't have a ship."
"She has Teal'c," Jack says, and now there's more than confidence. There's certainty. "And Vala and Mitchell, too. But it's Carter and Teal'c, Daniel. And I'd bet on them way the hell before I'd bet on anyone else."
"How touching."
"It is, ain't it?"
Daniel lets out his sigh, and drops his head forward, "Can you just shut up, Jack?"
"No. I'm going to think about all of that paperwork I'm missing," Jack says, and he sounds positively pleased. "There was the report that Walter sent, and the one from Landry..."
As Jack continues droning on, Daniel seriously considers killing him. Once they're free of course.
Sam had better hurry her ass up.

And I just saw "Abyss" for the first time, and I kind of loved how Jack totally believed Sam and Teal'c would come and get him, while Daniel was all skeptical until he was proven wrong. Apparently being ascended doesn't make you smarter...
I wish this show would get out of my brain.
