I miss Ruse. =/

I miss CrossGen =(

And it's been coming up a lot, lately.

Especially since in my seemingly endless quest to box and catalogue my comics, I've just reached my CrossGen books.

Awww. I just came across it because I was trying to find a BSG issue. So there was a bit of re-reading, and new love for Emma.

I really liked Crossgen universe.
There were some very good comics - Ruse, Route 666 and especially Negation. I loved Negation. Especially Evinlea and Saurian Lady.
Too bad they didn't make it.

I was picking up Ruse, Sojourn and then Route 666 when they were coming out. I liked the strong female characters, the snark, and the pretty pretty art.

And then it went byebye in the midst of Bad Things.

Ruse is the only one that actually had an end to it, sadly.

I read them on the Internet. I still have copies on DVD somewhere.
I liked them - I was rised on sf/ fantasy comics - mostly French or Belgian like Thorgal and La Quête de l'oiseau du temps (The Search of the Bird of Time).
I liked the many worlds and mithology and even the more childish ones had their moments.
And art was really pretty.

Ahh. Sadly, I think the "comics on the web!" thing Crossgen had going was part of the reason they folded--people stopped paying for the comics.

This is not to say they didn't also suffer from being unable to find a large enough audience. Sadly, they tried to bite off more than they could chew, I think.
