SFS: Doctor Who 'Utopia'
There was also 3.7 watched. So.
JACK.
Martha is hot. And she has a tattoo. Am I allowed to have one? I swear I'll treat her nice, and write her porn...
Martha's mother = only slightly less annoying than Jackie. And definitely less annoying than Rose.
Which brings me to Rose. Can't we shut the fuck up about her? It's nice that Jack wanted to know and shit, but, fuck, the woman is GONE. Let her rest in peace like the other 27+ companions. I was happy that the falling into the sun episode had absolutely NO Rose whatsoever. Thank fucking god.
As for Martha, I think I like her. She's useful and very proactive, and doesn't let people walk all over her. Plus, she kisses random boys. Mm. I could do with less of the screaming, though. It's not 19-bloody-63 anymore, you idiots.
It probably doesn't help I'd just read Ellis's Reload which has a chick who takes out the entire American government. And Cable and Deadpool which has Domino.
Although, I will note that Martha saved the Doctor at least once. So. At least they're slightly even.
Could care less about Saxon, as I've always hated Underlying Plot Threads in Who seasons.
Though Jacobi as The Master was nice, the other guy is... well, he's manic to match the Doctor, I guess.
Mostly, I felt very much as though I'd missed nothing not seeing the rest of series three.
Also, I was pleasantly surprised in the sun episode that they were not on Earth. And it's possible they weren't on Earth in Utopia, but that's hard to tell.

Dude. I was happy that sun-episode gave us lots of bare arms (except the medic).
I may be biased towards women with nice, bare shouldersno subject
And Jack is so hot.

Plus, they killed a good thousand in London, iirc.

Speaking of, I know you've mentioned it before, but is the Wisdom series worth picking up?
no subject
...OMG. Yes. Yes it is. Like. A lot. It is very much like Torchwood and yet in some ways not (no heads getting kicked off in TW). And it is awesome in ways that are probably directly related to my lust for the Virgin New Adventures Doctor Who books (and slightly towards my love for Paul Cornell). ALSO. There is Kitty (and the last comic has a bit at the end where, um. Paul is a bad man and a man after my own heart,as well).
Mmm. Kitty/Pete.

I'll look into Wisdom then, because ... I miss Kitty/Pete. Those were good times.

Technically, it is not large on the Kitty/Pete. Sadly. But there are slightly subtley bits that have Pete sort of, maybe, pining for her...

I'm sad, but oh well, that's okay. I'll check it out. I don't have the patience for any of the titles that are part of massive crossover "EVENTS" anymore, so something more self-contained would be nice.

Yeah, me, either. It's made Cable and Deadpool hard, since there's been some stupid crossover with another X-book. MARVEL. STOP MAKING FABIAN MOCK YOU.

heh. but Marvel makes it so easy! Well DC's no better when it comes to that crap - they used to be, but they fell back into the bloated crossover epic HELL too. So I dropped all their books too. And now I get the BSG comic because it's pure AU crack, and that's about it. :(

He's sort of exactly a match for the Doctor, which is kinda my issue. He's a physical match for the Doctor (and even says he's sorta going for that), and has the same "ooh, new teeth"/"ooh, new voice" moment, and, er, sheesh. Okay, we get that the Master is an evil parallel of the Doctor; it's sort of always been explicit. It's just sort of dull to make him a copy.

I am more curious about why they bother to have Jack be an immortal. Those loving Doctor/Jack combinations could see it as a way for the Doctor to spend eternity with *somebody*. ;-)
